What a weird thing for Rivera to say

The talent on the field has been carrying this coaching staff for years now.

Those players are now getting older and injured and can no longer compensate for inept coaching.

Time for a new GM and coaching staff, ASAP.

I would absolutely love to see what a competent coaching staff could do with the players we have.

I'm not holding my breath that I'll get to see that anytime soon.

ron rivera is a perfect case study on how to totally blow it as a leader.

no accountability whatsoever. deflect blame wherever possible.

100% clueless.

not buying the "players coach" myth anymore.

I'm not even sure you can call him a players coach anymore.

"Players friend" seems more appropriate.

Rivera just isn't a leader.

Mr. Scot --- I'm afraid none of us will ever see what this team truly capable of achieving. I think 2015 may be highlight of this teams success. Rivera has squandered the talent of this team.

the team doesn't lack heart....management and ownership?

I believe it's the whole organization, honestly. Well, let me rephrase that. I believe they have heart, but they're easily shaken and when shaken they'll give up. This has been said by the players of other teams, as well, about them.

They're yes men, and will tow the company line to the core. That's good for image purposes, but yes men aren't very good when faced with adversity. Maybe that's what JR wants *shrugs* We know that's what a lot of the Carolina faithful want.

he'd suck as a friend, too. dude throws his players under the bus consistently. no one needs that kind of friend.

Nowadays, he's more of just a GM's coach. I think his motto has run it's course. Players just aren't responding to (nor believing) his BS anymore. One hell of a DC, just not head coach material.
