CMC vs Kamara

Was reading this article from NFL.com's Kevin Patra. idk who he is, but in his preview of the Saints v. Packers tilt this weekend he said this:

Quote

expect Sean Payton to call Kamara's number often. The speedy rookie has been deadly in space this season, and Payton has done a masterful job with stretch pitches and flat passes to get the running back to green grass at the second level.

and it got me thinking. I dont know enough X's and O's to answer my own question so i figured i'd ask you fuggers. lol. Should we be using CMC like New Orleans uses Alvin Kamara? Are we already trying and failing?

just for more info, here are their current stats:

CMC:

397 total yards on 75 plays, 2 TD and 5.29 yards per play

Kamara:

317 total yards on 48 plays, 2 TD and 6.60 yards per play

Maybe its too early to try to make comparisons like this. Its just that people are talking about Kamara like he is lighting it up for New Orleans, while Panthers fans are starting to fault CMC for who knows what. Just curious for you thoughts. And if Kamara isnt the best player to compare to, then suggest your own!

For those thinking Kareem Hunt or Alvin Kamara would be able to work in CAR better than CMC are solely mistaken.

well just to be clear, im not necessarily suggesting Kamara would thrive in our system. are you saying the Saints use him differently? they seem to be similar players set up to do similar things.

definitely something the next GM needs to address, either through a coaching change at that position or through FA/draft

still think we are actually getting a new GM? Hurney seems to be getting pretty comfy as the organization seems to be crumbling leadership wise

It all depends on how the season finishes , if we make the playoffs and have a winning record and make it to the Conference Championship round? He probably will stay.

KC's scheme doesn't help Hunt break tackles, something McC has struggled to do. Hunt as of right now is definitely top 2 rookie back along with Fournette.

KC has an o-line able to open holes for Hunt. Saints have a decent o-line with a coach who loves RBs with Kamara's skillset.

Carolina has an atrocious o-line situation that likely did slow CMC's learning curve, considering he barely even had an inch of room for the most part.

10 games left this season. Ryan Kalil back means more holes will likely be open. Let's reserve our judgment until calling one of our better offensive weapons a "bust"

As it stands CMC is our most reliable offensive weapon.  I see him getting open, finding holes in the d, and answering the call every time his number comes up.

For the eleventy-seventh time, this offense will never flourish to its potential with “Don’s my daddy” Shula calling the plays.

Sean Payton and Andy Reid (or whoever their oc is) vs mike shortbus shula. That’s pretty much all there is to it.

They have a friendly scheme when it comes to pass catching RBs, dating all the way back to Sproles. Sean Payton loves his pass catching RBs. Not to mention, I think Kamara's athletic ability is underrated. That dude can ball. CMC looks like he can barely break any tackles and goes down on first contact, even when he does have a little space. Not hating on CMC, but he never should have been a top 10 pick, moreso because I think the majority of us already knew Mike "I have a job only because of my daddy's name" Shula wouldn't know how to use him correctly.

There was someone here who swore up and down every time his name came up before the draft that he was terrible. Either a disgruntled Vols fan or a gruntled SEC fan but certainly some typical sec absurdity going on
