The Saints our biggest competition in the division this year?

How anybody is underestimating the saints in this thread is beyond me. They came into Charlotte and absolutely tore us apart. Their defense is vastly improved from the first two weeks and Kamara looks like a stud to go along with Ingram who is always better when he gets the lion share of the carries.

In my opinion the winner of the saints-panthers game in New Orleans takes the division.

Hopefully the formatting doesn’t go all wonky...

Had a thought occur to me while I was looking at who our division rivals play over the next few weeks. The Saints don’t have very many games where they won’t be favored. Take a look (wins in green):

                     CAR        NO        ATL        TB

Week 7:     @CHI     @GB      @NE     @BUF

Week 8:     @TB       vsCHI    @NYJ    vsCAR

Week 9:     vsATL     vsTB      @CAR   @NO

Week 10:   vsMIA    @BUF     vsDAL   vsNYJ

Week 11:   Bye         vsWAS   @SEA    @MIA

Week 12:   @NYJ    @LAR      vsTB     @ATL

Week 13:   @NO      vsCAR     vsMIN   @GB

Week 14:   vsMIN    @ATL      vsNO    vsDET

Week 15:   vsGB       vsNYJ    @TB      vsATL

Week 16:   vsTB       vsATL     @NO     @CAR

Week 17:   @ATL     @TB        vsCAR   vsNO

Record:       12-4       10-6          7-9        6-10

obviously anything can happen any week. Any one of these games could go the opposite direction. Notice that if things play out like I predict them, the Saints will be within striking distance of us, especially if they can keep us from winning in the Dome. That game is VERY important.

I based the wins and losses on how the teams are playing right now. If someone collapses or catches fire, this could change drastically.

Regardless, ATL looks primed for a Panthers2016-type collapse and the Saints are playing really well at the moment. The Panthers have their work cut out for them if they intend on recapturing the division crown this year.

Regardless of what happened in BOA last year after a week of riots in a game the Panthers should have been up double digits at halftime, the QB-less Vikings will not and should not be favored at BOA.

Sucked last year down the stretch as well.

oh okay. i honestly dont follow them too closely. just know they've been playing pretty well the past few weeks, much like the Saints.

trust me, i'll be glad to be wrong. means we'll have a more comfortable lead in the division :)
