Anyone wish we had Fournette instead of CMC

First I need to apologize for mistaking you as the OP, i kinda skipped to the last page. Simplifying the blocking scheme is definitely a start to the solution. I don't know how many times i saw our tackles providing uneffective help (shoulder rubs) to our Guards only to be out of position to block their own assignments. if i'm coach i'm screaming BLOCK your Man.. and trust the guy next to you to do his job.  also We can't run I-Formation because we haven't had a legit FB since Hoover(Tolbert was used as a BIG HB here).

I know but we have Armah doing ST just warming the bench. Like try him out see how it works. It's worth a few plays to see how he does.

Everyone needs to stop being so quick to rule out CMC.....You can see the flash in this kid. He's got the "goods". Yes, he may take a little more time to adjust to the speed and agility of the NFL, but it looks like he has the drive to succeed.....He's very young. If he gains 10 lbs of solid muscle this off season I think the "down on fist contact" will be a non issue.......Look for him to have a break out game soon. It's coming.

Yea Ladianian Tomlison, Kareem Hunt, and Marshall Faulk are all backs around his height and they all weighed around 215 which seems to be a magic number for great balanced style running backs. Not sure if he'll do it but 10-15 lbs doesn't sound that extreme , especially considering how many other backs are around that size or bigger. I'm guessing there's no way it'll happen during the season, he probably needs to put in some serious work next offseason to pack on 10-15 lbs it'll help him out alot.

And he actually gained 3 lbs from his combine weigh in to his official NFL measurements from 202 at the combine to 205 to start the season. He could easily be somewhere between 212-220 before the start of next season, especially if he gets sick of getting beat up/pushed around this season, itll happen sooner rather than later .

Good idea. Let's go ahead and draft a Stewart clone as he not even breaks 100 yards at this point with that poo blocking in front of him.

We never even had a chance to take LF with him gone at 4 anyhow. Besides that, he was never a fit for the Panthers shotgun dominant offense.

Jaguars run an offense revolving around fournette, meaning they run under center and a power downhill run game to get him going. If he went to us, he'd have similar or less production than what AP did for the Saints. Simply not a fit, especially with this poo run blocking.

Jags make him look good cause 1.) their QB sucks 2.) blake 3.) bortles.

You were wrong then, and you are wrong now.  Fournette would've fit this offense perfectly, and to make matters worse he can catch the ball.  No wonder Gettlemen tried to trade for him  Just stop, please.

Hindsight is 20/20 dude. I doubt most people were really thinking that much about how successful Cohen and Hunt would be in the draft, admittedly mostly because of their schools and conferences they played in and not their individual performances in college which were both great.

From the coaching staff's perspective, we hadn't drafted a first round hb since almost 10 years prior (keep in mind the franchise is barely 22 years old) , Stewart approaching 30 and showing signs he's losing speed/explosiveness, and there was a  huge need after last season to take pressure off of Cam after him absorbing so much punishment and injuries. I'm not apoligizing for them taking McCaffrey, I think I agree that in retrospect there could have been better moves made, but you have to remember also he's not even played half a NFL season yet. Especially when you draft a player that high you can't call them a bust in 6 games when the oline has been ass and , the starting center has been out for most of the games, and Cam was ass for half the games, and he like you said is playing with an incomptent OC and HC as well. I'd give him a couple years here to truely evaluate his performance and say if he's a bust or not, and that's just in our system . He'll probably get another chance or even multiple to go to teams that know how to use him much better.

Truth is, he isn't a powerback , you're right. But he's not even remotely tapped his potential yet in my opinion. Give him more carries and better blocking, and you'll probably see much better results.  I think he should be getting closer to 10 carries and 10 receptions a game , instead of what like 4-6 carries and 5 catches is around his average now, shouldnt be giving him less than 20 touches from scrimmage a game. I don't think anyone not named Walter Payton or Barry Sanders would be even remotely productive running behind our oline.

MY goodness you guys are great at making excuses for CMC. He needs to be in the patriots system, he needs to be in Washington. He literally needs the ability to physically break a tackle to thrive in OUR system. Yall will keep making excuses for him the rest of the season yet Cam stew and the crew dont even get half the excuses you guys come up with. CMC is not a baller, he is a situational slot WR

Yes.

But also liking CMC so far, and his versatility which LF wouldn't provide on the same level. Also, LF would be dead behind our line, and CMC's running will (hopefully) take off once the line gets its poo together.

Actually, he's caught the ball out of the backfield pretty well this year (LF).

Agree.....He seems to have a strong work ethic, you can see it in his mechanics......He'll get on par up with NFL strength. And of course our O-line needs to fix their issues. But we just need to hope he stays healthy and be patient. I like this kid, he's a competitor.

I wanted Fournette. He wasn't available. So no point debating who we'd rather have.

Kareem Hunt though...

All you can really say is the Cheifs got lucky . No one was predicting Hunt to be this good, same thing with Jordan Howard from last year .

And who is to say he'd have the same results in our system?

I just don't understand the point of these threads. We've got who we got. Panthro said why we didn't get him. He didn't drop. We couldn't move up high enough.

I mean what do you hope you accomplish by rehashing all this crap. Is there some power in being able to say "I told you  so!"? Move on.

They didn't tell anyone anything. We all wanted Fournette at 8....he wasn't there so they don't even qualify to say anything close to they told anyone so. We didn't skip him, he wasn't there, 0 point they have.

People will defend the pick of CMC because they fell in love with the hope and hype of a great white running back which is rare. The reality is the kid is NOT an every down NFL running back. Regular season so far the coaches havent even committed to the idea of running him between the tackles and that is evident when they always hand the ball of to stew when hes in the game and its a run up the middle. Like I said 100 times.. Fournette would have been the pick if he was there. CMC was an attempt to get a much better scatback than Fozzy and a player who can pplay multiple positions since we lost Ted Ginn for special teams. CMC will not get any bigger than he is now and he will only be a superb slot WR. He is the perfect player for the patriots type scheme. Shula is just not built mentally to be creative enough when its game day and the game is on the line. Dude is just lost at times. CMC will never make a probowl especially in our offence. LF is headed straight for the probowl and rookie of the year. Hopefully many of these CMC stans will come back down to Earth one day. Till then we are getting what I expected for us to get... Well to be honest I thought he would avg 50 yards rushing and 30 yards receiving  but that aint happening every game.  We could of got a tyrik choen in the 3rd or 4th round, we could of got a Kareem Hunt in the 2nd or 3rd round.... but nope we spend a top 10 pick on a slot WR/Fake RB

How dumb can you be? Fournette wouldn't do poo here with the blocking we have. But you like to go on these borderline racist rants because CMC is white. Trust me.. We all know why you don't like him
