When the last time you had some blood work done?

BP & Cholesterol check?

You can be skinny and have high BP and high cholesterol.

They don’t call it the silent killer for nothing.

If that was my diet I would be monitoring my BP/cholesterol religiously

High protein reduces bp and bad cholesterol...

Man I love them. I just fry mine over medium in Kerry Gold or a locally made Amish butter. I’ve eaten a whole dozen over the course of a day on more than one occasion. Can’t argue against low carb though, we know it works. I have completely changed my doctor’s opinion on it and she actually recommended it for my brother to lose weight and improve his BP.

My dad went from 300 to 216 by going no/low carb (no more than 20grams of carbs/day) in 8 months.  He walked on a treadmill 30 minutes a day 5 days/week, uses 3 to 5 weight machines at the gym.  He no longer has to take 2 of his diabetic medications, his triglycerides are normal, BP is awesome, both cholesterol numbers are normal as well.  He is 68 years old...it can be done.

Diabetes, among many others, is not a permanent condition. Of course if they tell you that then they don’t get to sell you the drugs or collect co-pays. There’s no profit in healthy people.

The biggest problem I had with low carb was/is the ratio of fat. You're supposed to eat 10% carb, 20 % protein, and 70% fat. It's difficult to get that much fat without eating a ton of bacon, eggs, and avocado.

You eat to satiety, not to any specific threshold and that’s what makes it easy for me.

I tried a Keto style diet back in culinary school before it was a “thing . At only 6ft tall I was ballooning up to over 250#, tasting everything I made & others have made at school then working in a restaurant at night eating this tasting that it’s easy to eat poorly and lose track of what you are eating.

So I gave it a shot, a few other guys I knew did it with results, I lost about 25lbs in 2 months but it wasn’t more me it was probably the sh*ttiest I ever felt in my life, & there was no way I was going to make it a lifestyle.

In the end for me it was a balanced diet (whole foods) nothing processed and zero to extremely small amounts of sugar and lots of exercise. Took me a year to go from 225 to 190 & I’ve been there ever since and this was 15yr ago or so.

IMO it’s the cheap processed food and sugar, that’s causing a lot of this country’s health problems.

Keto, Paleo, Vegans, Pescatarian, Whatever if its working for you and your getting results and feel good and your healthy, stay on it man.

But I don’t know anybody that slams 3 bags of dorritos eats fast food drinks bottomless cups of soda and snickers bars for snacks that have said they feel good look great & are the picture of health.

Steak is gross? I love steak, don’t think I could ever get tired of it.

Absolutely!

California has some nice small farm beef.

Especially this time of year

I sling a lot of grass fed cowboy cut ribeyes nothing less than 2" thick

30-60day dry aged NY Strips

Holiday time is really the only time I will sit down to a big cut of beef.

That sounds amazing. I have a small butcher shop where I get most of my meat. I actually know a couple of their suppliers so not only do I know how my meat is sourced but I’m also helping local farmers which is a win all the way around.

Farm To Table.

Local Ingredients & knowing where you food comes from.

Local Butcher shop/farms for meat and farmers markets for produce.
