That doesn't say a lot for Kaaya having "promise".

i think kaaya might have the mental part down (at least he looked smart talking to gruden), but i think the problem with him was that he's a better practice guy or at least working in ideal situations, but when the pressure is on can't function. he actually reminds me a bit of clausen in that he's someone that by talking to him and watching his highights you'd think he's got the potential to be a good pro-style QB, but when all is said and done, he just doesn't have "it".

i think picking him up was hurney's effort to show that he can do what gettleman does and find these hidden gems on his own, but may have been told to just let the adults do the thinking from now on.

Never saw Kaaya throw a pass, so I can't honestly say that Gilbert is better, but Gilbert impressed me enough during training camp / preseason that I'm glad we didn't take the chance of having him picked off from our practice squad.

I watched his preseason Lions games after we signed him. The biggest issue I saw is that his eyes would drop to the rush at the first hint of pressure.

Kayaa's physical talent just never translated on the field. He can throw the ball, but he plays scared.

Right. But their intention was to have him on the PS so they could look at both young QBs. You made it sound like they cut him to get rid of him.

Well, when you cut someone, it really doesn't matter to you wether you get him back or not. If it did, you would've cut someone else instead. So, I made it sound like what it was...
