to be fair any idiot that watched Cam and Luke play in college could see they were transcendent talents

Luke was not a popular pick around here. About half if not more were angry with the pick.

If that was the case, Luke wouldnt have lasted until the 9th pick.  And a lot of this board may be idiots then, because i recall a pretty big split down the middle regarding Cam, with many wanting Dareus instead.

I know it's fun to beat up on Hurney, and he has made plenty of stupid moves, but he also deserves credit where it's due.  His first round picks are pretty flawless.

Well, our fan base is quite idiotic sometimes.  I was at BWW's when that Draft happened, and I was with A Steeler fan, and two Skins fans.  Everyone including myself at the table thought it was a phenomenal pick.

Youth and the ability to develop for the future.

Yeah, but i weigh Kaaya or Gilbert's ability to develop into something significant versus a 3rd QB who is active on gameday because he is also a competent gunner and coverage guy on ST and can play WR as well.

At the end of the day, it isnt going to make or break us, I just think it's been a lot of wasted movement at the bottom of the roster.

Uh, yeah, like I said any idiot could tell Luke was a transcendent talent.

Admittedly the huddle isn't a good place to gauge such things lol, but again, 8 teams passed him up.  Hurney could have too, especially with already having Beason, regardless of injury.  That wasn't an easy pick.

You guys crack me up.  Let's get all pissed at Hurney and act like hes a fool for signing a player and then cutting him a few weeks later.

Hell, G-Man cut and resigned Bersin and Wes Horton about 250 times.

I'd say a lot of the annoyance with Kaaya revolves around Joe Webb.

If we were going to keep a third quarterback on the roster, why not just keep Webb and put Kaaya on the practice squad?

Heck, a lot of folks would have preferred to keep Webb over Derek Anderson.

Hurney reportedly had Mark Barron rated higher.

This was a case of another team saving us from a mistake.

Ok...  Hurney is the devil and anything he has successfully done was not of his volition.

I really wish the huddle was just as enlightened and objective when it came to judging Gettleman's moves during his tenure.

To be fair no one thought Cam would transition to a nfl QB like the  panthers did and people were bitching about taking Luke because  we already had linebackers.

Not every move Hurney makes is dumb or wrong. Unfortunately, history tells us that enough of them are that he's not a good GM.

Bringing Kaaya aboard against the advice of scouts is actually a worse look than letting him go.
