Panthers Are One Of Three Teams To Not Allow A 100+ Yd Receiver OR 100+ Yd Rusher

Something interesting I saw. With our supposed bad secondary, we have been pretty decent for the most part.

Put that more on the Front 7, they have really dominated this year.  Would like to find a stat on league pressuring the QB, we have to be at the top.

There has been several times is games this year where the WR were open but the QB rushed and throws over, short, out of bounds etc.

This Defense reminds me a Lot of 2013 where the front 7 made the DBs look great.  That group with White, Mike Mitchell etc looked real good to when the front 7 was doing work

Secondary is better this year when healthy. I was on Shaq hype early on but we need to let Captain play more nickel packages didn’t pay him $$ for nothing.

Yeah, I know Shaq has loads of athletic potential but never saw the ability to cover.  Thus the very reason I was never a fan of him a prospect at Safety.  Just like TD, just a LB with the athletic ability of a Saftey, just not the skills.

Secondary Is Way better than last year, but thats not saying to much considering how bad last years was.  They are good and get the job done but just not Great yet.

Just like 2013 where Melvin White etc looked solid but was somewhat masked by a elite looking Front 7

This defense has 1 interception through 6 games.

I wasn't too concerned with our lack of turnovers early on, but it's definitely getting to the point that it's concerning. I'm still hoping that the law of averages will kick in and we'll start getting them in bunches, but we'll see.

Hopefully the law of averages kicks in, we are in the bottom of the league with Cleveland, Chicago, and the Bengals in turnover ratio.  Not good company to be in.

Us not being able to be able to punch out a fumble or grab a int is pretty concerning to me.  You always......Always hear that if you cant win the turnover game you cant win the game.

2015 our 15-1 season, we led the NFL in turnover ratio with +20        we are -6 now

I think it will happen.  Panthers are #2 in the NFL in sacks.  TO will come....especially when we hit this stretch of the next 5 games with some QBs that will be much more turnover prone.

    • I didn't say much bigger. Watch the highlights I linked. Bryce doesn't have the arm strength and/or talent to make the vast majority of the throws Mac made in that video.
    • Tetairoa McMillan.   The last 28 1st overall picks were either a QB, DE, or OT. Seeing as I don't think we'd take an OT in the 1st and give up on Ickey as an LT yet and there doesn't seem to be a clear overall #1 type of QB or DE pick this year, it very well could be a non conventional #1 overall this year, at least in regards from the last almost 3 decades of drafts. If we didn't have Horn, I'd be more open to Hunter as a CB at #1, but we have him so another CB wouldn't be how I'd use a #1 pick.  And as much as I love Legette, if we have SB contending aspirations, I don't think Legette is a #1 on a team like that, but he damn sure is an elite #2 on a team like that.  He's more of the Smith/Higgins/Waddle to Brown/Chase/Hill (in terms of role/impact, not style of play of course). T-Mac is going to be the top ranked WR on every team's board in the end.  He is going to be a true outside #1 WR who is viewed as a consensus Top 5 WR in the game by his second contract in the same way guys like Jefferson and Chase have done.  His height combined with his speed, athleticism, and hands are near impossible to find all in one player, there is a reason his generally used comp is Mike Evans (although as he's not as thick, I personally see him more as an AJ Green). Yes, as an Arizona alum I've admitted to having bias towards the player to begin with.  But he's also someone very widely being put into the Top 5 in mock drafts lately and most of them have him as the first non QB offensive player being taken, so it's not really THAT much of a homer pick on my part anyways. If a QB or DE truly separate themselves as being a can't miss prospect come draft day, I'm open to that discussion, but until then, or if it doesn't happen, T-Mac is my pick 100 times out of 100.
