Can't even replace the production of a 32 year old Steve Smith

Best WR Cam ever had was a 32 year old Smith. 79 receptions, 1,400 yards

The second best WR Cam ever had was a 33 year old Smith 73 receptions, 1,174 yards

This is the bottom line. And there are no if, and's or but's about this.

Pretty sad if you ask me.

Can we please get somebody that can take the rock to the house on any given play ? Right now our most exciting player on offense is Cam. Even with a healthy Greg, it's still Cam. Can we, please, please, please, get somebody exciting on offense ?

It's comical you all thought CMC was the doctors order for that. @Fournettecation knew that CMC was going to be underwhelming in the pros and that we should do what we have to do to trade up for Fournette, a future Stewart replacement. (and we did try to trade up for Fournette)

It's just a shame that who we thought was the next best thing is so trash. Tarik Cohen, Alvin Kamara, Cameron Artis-Payne are better than McCaffrey. If CMC had any skill he'd of juked the one (1) defender he had to make miss for the score. He had to make one guy miss and he couldn't it's so disappointing.

While Shula likes a methodical offense, ball control, running the ball, burning the clock - it's not like he has any other choice with the players on this roster, right ?

Who on this offense is going to make an explosive run after catch play besides lol Ed lol Dickson ? We have to do it the hard way, ain't nobody on this offense has the skill to do anything exciting.

The doctor ordered a true #1 receiver. At least somebody who is a true threat to take it to the house any play. Defenses fear Cam the most on our offense, can we please for fugs sake get somebody on offense that defenses fear Cam THROWING TO (even with Olsen, he offers no YAC which is what we need more than anything)

Only thing we could get would probably be Tavon Austin... dude doesn't get 7sed in his offense, but seeing how we use Samuel, he wouldn't do poo here either

He sucks.

We need a freak. Is that so hard to understand? Letting Cam throw to a freak. A pass from a freak, to a freak. That's never happened.

We've had a shitty QB to throw to a freak.

And a freak to throw to shitty WR's ....... but never together, pass from Freak QB to Freak WR

Sounds easy.  Make it happen.

Just imagine Cam being the second best player on offense for a minute

Given the defensive gameplans and defensive calls....teams certainly seem to be overly concenred w/ CMC.

CMC isn't a bust and he doesn't suck.  He is the 2nd person game planned for in your offense outside our QB.

CMC isn't going to shine until our pass attack is respected.....and it was comically disrespected Thursday night.

Dude for 1, Steve Smith wasn't a freak. We lucked up with that one. Just like we lucked up for Josh Norman.

In order for us to get the best, we have to suck. Top 5 pick suck and that don't always work out that way either. Antonio Brown was drafted in the 6th round.

    • NFL Pro has the All-22 up already 😄 Going to grab a play or two from each redzone series to put screenshots to. Looks like AT angled his route off to the near pylon rather than the back corner where Bryce was throwing to. I imagine this is something they'll quickly try to figure out with Thielen back from IR. After watching the All-22 again, this was actually a pretty nifty play. I thought it was a TE screen to Tremble because of the way XL charged the DB, but he quickly shed and kept upfield as seen in the second screenshot. This looks like it had multiple layers built into it with AT running the crosser, XL the fade, Tremble to the flat. The progression would call for the play to go to Chuba here as the LB does follow Tremble out into the flat. Ball hits Chuba low and in the hands, but the LB does a good job disrupting the catch.
    • The bottom lines to me are that a) we played well enough to beat the best team in the league and b) Bryce Young is growing into a bridge QB role (his ceiling) for us. As much as I don't want BY around after the season, it seems DC can still build the O with a game manager at QB for now. Best case scanario, we can build the D through the draft this year and take a QB we have conviction outside the 1st this or next draft. If BY keeps improving, we are going to win a couple more games this year.
    • Bryce has been a completely different QB since coming back. That started in Denver where it was obviously he was playing a lot more loose and willing to push the ball downfield  Bryce continues to build off of the previous weeks performance and that’s what you want to see Bryce has been making some real good anticipation throws. Reading defenses well. Pushing the ball downfield (7 throws of 20+ air yards yesterday. 8 if you want to include PI to Thielen). The deep ball accuracy has been there. Some of Young’s best throws yesterday were incompletions. Sideline balls to XL and Moore both should’ve been caught. RZ dot to Tremble should’ve been caught. And another RZ ball to Moore that Young gave him a chance at. Bryce is starting to execute Canales offense and yesterday Canales finally opened it up a bit. Canales was to blame for the 126 passing yards in Germany as he played a more conservative game.  The next bit I’m looking for his for Young to be a bit more decisive with running the ball. Start putting that on film and it’ll help open things up a tad
