The Blame Game - Reviewing all of Jonathan Stewart's runs

We truly dont know how bad or good this oline is because they are being told to do overly Complex run blocking schemes, it seens they are blocking well on pass plays.  All the players except Cam looked washed up thanks to our coaching staff

I only see one run here where Stew could have done something better.

Agreed. Other than drafting Trae Turner we have completely ignored developing a strong OL. Mostly, I assume, bc the brass felt like Cam’s escape ability made a dominant OL less important. I disagree and think that all resources need to be directed to getting talent...especially at tackle.

Getting Kalil back can’t happen soon enough. He’s gotta be one of the most underrated players in the league.

The Eagles run that Wide 9 formation which kicks the edge rushers out a bit further.  I think this fugged our marginal tackles up.  Someone should check to see if Matt Kalil has functioning peripheral vision, I've seen him completely ignore a wide outside rusher way too many times this season.

So why does Matsko get a pass on them being confused? From everything I have heard, he is well respected by the players but he was fired from Baltimore wasn't he?  I have never read anyone blame him for anything but he has one job.

It's funny to read Shula is too predictable and then, run game is too complex all at the same time.

There are some good run defenses out there and many are very stout like Philly but we have trouble running against mediocre teams we should be pounding.   Stewart is a beast and should be one of the top running backs in the league.  He rarely goes down on first hit and punishes defenders when he can.  While I do agree there was a cutback here or there he might have given us a couple more yards.  IMO the RB isn't the problem.

If it weren't for Cam we would have been under 100 yds almost every game.  About the only thing Matsko has done is revived Oher career (for a moment) other than that our running game sucks.   As you stated, besides being a complex running scheme.  Shula is as predictable as they get.  I have yet to figure out why our best running play of the game was ran once.

The run with Samuel.  Those misdirection plays work real well on an aggressive front line.   If you line up in an obvious running play (which we do too often) we aren't going to succeed.

IMO, though we are 4-2, it is time for a change in coaching staff.

Since 2012 Stewart is averaging 3.8 ypc, that’s a 6 season sample. Are we gonna blame the O-line for the last 6 seasons????

Those are Trent Richardson numbers, any other franchise would have kicked Stewart to the curb 3 years ago but not us.

Today I saw Fournette make his own lanes out of nothing
