The line clearly is confused about what they should be doing.

SIMPLIFY!!!!!

I called for this weeks ago.

It is incredibly frustrating

it just isn't that hard to solve

Like any back or player, Stewart has strengths and weaknesses

after all these years, this offensive coaching staff should know them

and I am totally sick of Shula not knowing or noticing or setting up the right personal groupings

ahula   Stewart is a north south runner with one cut back and go  for the love of God stop using him horizontally or as a receiver   He is not fast enough and is not a pass catcher

Why must we have this "problem" of having a power back and a scat back? Most teams that run the ball well have one "do it all" back, for the most part. Ron wants to make the offense mirror the Patriots but forgets we don't have a Josh McDaniels. Just a leftover Shula. This "evolution" or whatever you want to call it seems more rah rah than anything else because we're seeing the same mistakes and game management. Manhertz is a TERRIBLE blocker, pass or run pro. Kalil is terrible when it comes to speed rushers. Williams is terrible too, don't let PFF fool you (see the first run for more evidence) . J Stew is a north/south back. I laugh everytime they run him to the outside. The run blocking in general is abhorrent and Alex Armah needs to be on the field more. Isn't that why we resigned him? Just my thoughts (although they're everywhere).

Multiple problem. 1. Oline is just not getting it done driving there player back 2. Poor choice of personal, Stewart is not washed up he is just not a scat back and there were holes that McCaffrey could have used his speed to get. 3. Poor timing of play calling. The defense knew we were running and swarmed. Number 3 is our biggest problem and makes number 1 much more obvious.

My conclusion is the same. Unless you bring back no cap football and put together a fully pro bowl offensive talent offense Shula is not going to get it done.

I alluded to it in the game thread.

Stew has obviously lost a step, but to use the Philly game to say that the man is done is just simplistic. And, not to mention any names, but I thought some of you were overzealous in your criticism (if not simply gratuitous to the point of potshots).

I only see one run here where Stew could have done something better.

I'm gonna mention 1.2 3.4.5.6.7.8 and you would have the Huddle blaming DWill seasons past for the same garbage result. At least this game they weren't blowing McCaffrey up sending him in there.

1st off, we run the ball at too high of a percentage on 1st downs.

2nd, they were obviously shooting the gaps to stop the run. Is it to difficult to call plays that fake the handoff and roll away from the pressure for an easy pass to the TE or CMC.

3rd. Find something that works, whatever it is and ride it to victory. Don't try to force your plan, that hasn't worked all game.

4th. Adapt and overcome during the game!

I still think Stew is past his prime, by a lot.

That being said, the run blocking was obviously atrocious.  I also have to put a bulk of the blame on Shula.  As another poster said, they need to simplify the rum game and utilize a FB ad thr lead blocker.  Also, the read option slowed their rush A LOT.  Yet, Shula only called it maybe 3 times that I can remember?  They weren't even playing Cam on it.  They came into the game keying on the RBs and locked in on them as soon as they knew it was a run.  Just horrible playcalling.
