Kuechly didn't have a concussion to begin with.

Agree, with most of what you outlined, however the part in bold is not necessarily accurate.  Being placed in protocol simply means the player had symptoms related to a concussion, not that he definitively had a concussion.  Some of those symptoms include slow to get up, neck pain, limited range of motion, all of which Luke exhibited after the hit.  Each of those could be related to a shoulder injury as well, which is initially what we heard. Assuming anything more either way is incorrect.

Maybe, but probably not. ROM and neck pain would have been differentially diagnosed in the locker room. Slow to get up is a nebulous preliminary trigger for the sideline eval. I get the need for optimism, and sincerely hope that he has no further signs, but as I said, if you read the entire protocol objectively, or even just read the flow chart, the logical conclusion is that he met the protocol definition of a concussion by a physician, supported by another MD and/or other medical professional's assessments. Regardless, there is no easy out. Once in, he has to go through the stages with continued assessments, even if they're just a formality. Once more, there's no max or min time, so he could be back yesterday, but given his Hx, the team, and Luke, can't mess around with it. Watching that replay frame by frame, he took two, and maybe even three, distinct shots, either of which could have caused some damage.

Again, I hope Luke or his family will insist Luke seek a second opinion.

The Panther organization has no problem trotting a player out onto the field until his brain is such  mush that the elevator stoppieng at the lobby gives them another concussion. See Dan Morgan.

Life after football>Football.

This seems to be an unfair criticism since every team was willing to do so at the time.

They've already shown how seriously they take it by keeping him out well beyond the protocol clearance last year. Then yesterday you accused them of of putting him on the field while in protocol while the team wasn't even on the field making that literally impossible.

Luke doesn't need to be at practice more than Thursday and Friday...or really just Friday. I would imagine they'll slow play this as much as possible to be sure.

Hell no the way he was missing tackles and pass coverage he needs all the reps in practice

So he may not have a concussion, but there could be something wrong with his neck. Damn =\

If it does come out that he has a neck injury, I wonder if that brace he wears has anything to do with it. I'm not sure how much pressure that thing puts on the neck, but if i put both my hands on the outside of my neck and just lightly press and hold it there for a little bit, I start feeling weird.  And reading that it "swells the brain" gave me red flags.

I'd like to know what symptoms Luke was showing to be placed in the protocol if he actually didn't have a concussion.

It looked to me that he got hit more in the neck area witch could have strained his neck and did like a pinched nerve thing. and maybe that gave him some of the same symptoms as a concussion and they just wanted to make sure it wasn't a concussion. or maybe in just talking out my arse. just my baseless opinion.

No our offense was making way to many mistakes.

Yes, but it was a 5 point game at the end. Could Luke have been a 5 point difference in the second half? It's possible. Either way, whatever. What's done is done.

He looked completely oriented and was holding his left shoulder on the sideline, the concussion thing didn't make sense from what I saw based on that.

Agreed. Was not even comparable to last year.

Also it was more than a slight jog off the field to the locker room, I've never seen them run someone to the locker room for a concussion.  That and the way he was holding his shoulders on the sideline made it seem odd when they announced he was in the protocol.  I'd MUCH rather that they be overly cautious though.  It's just a game.
