No he didn't kill anyone but you call that scrapping? lol what Cam and Norman did was scrapping. what Steve did was worse that. Steve was a great receiver and we were very lucky to have him. but he is not a good man. I'm not going to say who the best Panthers was/is because that's all opinionated.

You act like it's my opinion.  

Do you know why Sam Mills has a Statue? 

It's not because of his greatness on the field. 

When people start talking "greatest panther ever", I'm going to go by the franchise standard, not what who i think should be there. 

The includes leadership, and the type of person the player is. 

Steve Smith was/is the greatest receiver to play for the Panthers.  Love him. Love his play, loved his attitude on the field that made him as great as he was. 

That doesn't make him the greatest Panther ever.  You can disagree, but you're disagreeing with the franchise.

Great dad/husband, community philanthropist, but he’s “not a good man” cuz he broke two noses out passion for the game. It’s football, a violent sport btw. Give me a break.

That's not hard to do. This isn't a staple or model franchise by any measure. Much less a winning franchise.

WTF are the values again? Win sometimes but let the other team win too? Stand for the Anthem regardless of personal opinion? No tattoos for black QBs? Pie Chart education? Keep Pounding? that's a good one but first someone should tell them to KEEP PLAYING. Panthers tend to stop doing that when they get a tiny lead. Really I'd settle for keep playing to be the value.

Broke noses? sorry but that just proved you know nothing about what your talking about. Not going to say he isn't a good dad and husband. he is from what I know. but just that does not make a good man. its how you treat your follow man too. and don't hand me that " passion for the game" mess. his punching his teammates wasn't during a game its because he get his feelings hurt.

And as a football player Steve smith was a lot better than Sam mills. Sam mills is behind Cam, Luke, Smith, and Julius (not in order) as a football player.

I can some what agree with that if you are talking about athleticism. If your talking about heart I think you put them in a different order and add TD. they all would be close together but a little different order.

I do want Peppers and Smith to be retired as panthers but In my opinion not a statue. would be nice to have a ring of honor thing with them.

I think his jersey should be retired due to his incredible career and what he has meant for the team on the field.  I do not believe he should get a statue, I think you need to mean more to this franchise and community to earn it.  Even tho Steve did a lot for this community when he got older, his actions when he was younger should keep him from getting a statue.  I don't think Pep should get a statue either, only current Panther I can see getting one is TD.
