the Panthers may not have a winning record at home this year

We have lost to the Saints and Eagles. Won against the Bills.

We still have to play, in order, the Falcons, Dolphins, Vikings, Packers, and Bucs. would not surprise me at all if we go 2-3 in our remaining home games for an overall record of 3-5.

For what its worth, we will probably be a stellar road team this year. already 3-0 and still have to go to Chicago, Tampa, New York, New Orleans, and Atlanta. thats at least 3-2 for an overall record of 6-2.

I heard the post-game hosts talk about our road prowess so far and how it may come in handy in the playoffs. if we make the playoffs at 10-6 or 9-7 as a 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th seed, i'll be of the same mindset.

It just boils down to who we play at home this year versus away. alot of really tough teams on our home slate. Dont get me wrong, i still believe this team can win any given Sunday. If we can finally get in sync in all phases, this team still has the capability to win every game going forward, especially once we start getting healthy again. Coaching staff doesnt inspire alot of confidence, but i believe in the talent on this team.

what say you?

I say we should start looking towards who can be our coach in 2018, if the front office is cleaned out. Shula will continue hurting this team with awful play calling, the O-Line is meh at best, defense gets gassed thanks to offense struggles, and Rivera makes decisions like he did last night at the end of the first half. You mentioned not inspiring, and I go even further and say no confidence in the coaching staff. Talent can only win so many games when they are put in positions where they should not succeed. Wilks is okay, but he may be too blitz happy. Wilks is about the only bright spot so far, and that is not saying much. Really hope they clean house at the end of this season, and they stop wasting the talent they do have.

i hear you. but my focus is more on this season. i dont think this is a lost season by any means. we are 4-2 with some impressive wins and disappointing losses. such is the nature of football and all of our goals are still in front of us, as Rivera likes to say.

we lose one more at home and i can't see someone not getting fired.

remember marty was fired after we went 1-3 at home. of course we had gone 1-5 to that point, but still that last home loss was a big nationally televised game that was pretty embarrassing.

losing to our old head coach might be a catalyst for a move, but i doubt it.

best i think we can hope for is some of those coaching seats just got really hot.

I posted early in the game thread that we are in the middle of a 5 game stretch where the Eagles were our only home game and we should take advantage of it.

Give credit to the Eagles, they are real, but we shot ourselves in the foot last night.

We had a chance to win without Greg and Ryan, not to mention 2 safeties.  If we can beat the teams we should beat while getting healthy, we should be good the second half of the season.  I think Ryan is back next game and I think there is a very good chance Luke will be as well,  and I think we can handle the Bears on the road fairly easily.  5-2 is not bad at all,  though it's concerning the our 2 losses would be at home.

The difference in this league in a good year or a bad year, regardless of what year it is, is injuries.  We stayed pretty healthy in 2015, Falcons did last year.  We need to hold together till we get our guys back, and we can do well, very well.

If you scrape the shine off of the 4-2 record you can see we are a razor thin margin away from being 1-5 right now

-we lose the bills game if Zay Jones catches that pass

-if Gano doesn't hit that bomb at the horn against the pats, does anyone here honestly think we beat Brady in OT

-if we give the ball back to Stafford we lose that game as well.

I know none of this matters because we did win those games and we are 4-2. Coaching is a big issue right now on both sides of the ball and at the head.

Rivera showing no confidence in Gano to kick 50+

Wilks heading up a defense that has given up 34, 30, 24, and 28 the last four weeks. Granted Wilks gets more of a pass here because turnovers completely derailed the saints and eagles games.   However, he is also presiding over a defense that has one interception in six games.  QB play is a large part of that, but we have got to start taking the ball away

Shula doing Shula things. No need to rehash that, even fans that don't follow our team can see how bad the calls are.

You can do this for a lot of teams
