Meeks/Fox Defensive Co.

Sooner or later Fox will take control of this defense like he always does, and when he does it will start playing better. I always thought that Fox should just be the defensive coordinator instead of always having to step in when things go bad. Just my 2cents.

I hope so Dan...We need to get back to our normal Defensive form, like back when you were in your prime. Right now we look like a bunch of middle schoolers playing against pros.

Hey Dmo,

You think Fox has lost the players at all? I mean he has been around preaching the same stuff for 8 years, and now there is only 8 players left over from the Super Bowl year. So the young guys (and we are young) dont remember that feeling, or have walked that road with Fox.

Do you think that some of the young guys might think Fox is just an old coach stuck in his ways doing what he thinks is right?

With 8 straight losses I dont think its an unfair question.

I have hope and faith in this team, I will always think we can turn it around until the math says its not possible. I bleed Panther Blue and consider myself one of the biggest fans, but you have to wonder whats going on in that locker room.

Its seems we have lost that "fire" somewhat. Maybe its just a slump, and once we get on a roll we will be fine.

I am a Football coach myself, so I understand this game is just as much emotional/mental as it is physical, I just hope someone is saying the right things to get our guys fired up and on a roll.

Joe

I hope Fox doesn't take over. Our defense fell apart last year when he started having more influence in the 2nd half of the season. I don't really trust him with any part of the team at this point.

How exactly and to what degree does he "take over"? I mean, does he completely call the plays at that point, or put more input into meetings, etc?

If Fox becomes the DC in all but name, it would explain why Trgo took the demotion to go to another team. No one really likes having their boss knock their knees out from underneath them.

So if Fox needs to step in & run things, that seems to suggest that the problems are not physical but mental?

The cadre of missed tackles and gaps are due to problems with implementing/playing scheme? I ask because I always figured those were mostly physical issues but I can see how some could be mental.
