The burden on Cam Newton

Yea. A prime Smitty on this team and I don’t see how we’re beatable. Sure the oline would still be suspect, but a WR that can get open does wonders for an oline.

It's all about the engine.....Smitty had drive, fire, passion......We need one guy on offense with these attributes.

Cam lays on the ground a bunch. Not every time mind you, but a whole lot. How many times have you seen him down on the ground. Only to pop up, smiling, and ready to go. That play may, or may not have hurt. But he was not down for long.

And even if he was. We called time out, to let him get his bearings. He was playing possum.

Most people are saying that because they probably saw what I saw when the camera zoomed in on his face.  he winced in pain that's where we're getting thatfrom.   it's because we saw someone look like they were in stinging  pain.

On that goal line run you could see the sheer force of the impact as he was landing on his arm. It was rough to keep seeing it on replay. Clearly it had an effect on him afterwards. To pretend otherwise is just being dense.

Not to mention the fact that DA started warming up on the sideline right after that play. Obviously the team knew cam was in pain and he still went out there and did all he could to lead us to victory. Blaming cam for that loss is so weak.. Without him, we are nothing

Not really. The first of said attempts he did everything he could. Somebody has to catch his passes after all. The second attempt, he made some plays but yes, had two bad passes. I think it was evident something was going on whether it’s his shoulder or his hand or what but both passes obviously slipped out of his hand weirdly. Cam did everything he could despite his teammates causing three interceptions, dropping just about half of his passes, and running into brick walls and falling down. No other MVP has had to carry a team like Cam is required to carry us. For the past five or six years Cam has been asked to pretty much be the entire offense. No other MVP has ever had to shoulder that burden.

I would slightly disagree in this way... I think off and on for the last 5 or 6 years, former MVP Aaron Rodgers has had to be the "do it all" QB for GB with their off-and-on struggles to build an OL, injuries to WR, and pretty much horrible draft choices at RB.

But, having said that, this also backs up your point because the Packers haven't won a Super Bowl or been a conference champion since 2010.

You seem to sum up the thought process for most folks, so I'll answer you. Yes, this was a funky game. Cam gets his arm hit, INT. Stewy misses a pass, INT. Both in the Red Zone. Both lead to points.

With all that said. We had the ball twice in the 4th quarter, down by 4, and we did not come back. That is what I am talking about.

After all the crap that happened.  All we needed was a TD to win. We had 2 shots at it, and we failed both times. Doesn't our MVP type QB deserve some of the blame?

My God, I have been hard on Newton plenty of times

Thursday's night game is not one of them

go back and look at the replay of that game, the dropped passes the missed assignments, the failure to run proper routes or come back to the QB on hot routes, the 3 inches running taking out his numbers

you can point blame at a lot of people for that . Newton is not one of them

so much for the 'evolution of the offense

it looks a lot like the same old offense to me, Newton carrying everyone else who can't make a play or call a decent play, or run a decent route or play situational football over and over and over and over

Newton was a warrior on Thursday. Pick on someone else. There are plenty of candidates

No way Brady or Rogers lose that game if given, not one, but two chances to march down the field and win the game at the end.

Cam thru an int and an awful pass to CMC when it counted.

Brady and Rodgers would not be in a position to win because they wouldn't even be able to run the ball like Cam had to that game. Brady and Rodgers is never asked to be both rb and qb so pointless ass comparison.
