Next gen stats - our run blocking is atrocious, Stewart and Mccaffrey are disappointments

Even looking back at the draft from today, I'm still not sure who would have been a better pick at 8. But I'm agreeing so far, McCaffrey is no where near worth #8 so far. If we were dead set on drafting  a RB of the future we shoulda traded up for Fournette or traded down for Cook. You can't really say anything about Hunt since no one expected him to explode like that. McCaffrey isn't an NFL running back, hes a WR who maybe should be in the backfield occasionally for tosses , trick plays , or end arounds, but should see most of his time in slot or out wide where hes actually somewhat resepctable.

I wanted Lattimore or Hooker personally.

All I'll say, is wait until Kalil is back to truly pass judgement.  If we can get out of the obivous running downs, and have a better center, I think our running game will be vastly improved.

hope so. I wasn't really passing judgement , thats just how  i feel at the moment based on what i seen. I won't say if he's a bust or not until hes been in the league a couple years.

At this point, it's pretty obvious that CMC is more of a receiver than he is a runner and that CAP should be taking most of Stew's snaps. Stew was a very good RB for us when healthy for a long time, but the guy is clearly shot.

Definitely agree with the CAP over Jstew.  I do think CMac can be a good between the tackles runner though.

Doubt it, to be a good inbetween the tackles runner you need to able to break tackles, Mccaffrey couldn’t break tackles against pac 12 defenses not gonna do it in the nfl.

Are you joking?  McCaffrey absolutely broke tackles in the Pac 12, and he broke tackles tonight.  I'm not sure you realize how important Kalil is to our running game.  However, I also don't think you really understand football, when you think CMac didn't break tackles in the Pac 12.  Just wow.  Hope you are drunk

He will never be considered a bust in the sense Reggie Bush was never considered a bust.

But to me  the 8th pick has to be a more than a scat back.

Mccaffrey only had 500 yards after contact that wasn’t even in the top 15 in college football.

    • I like that a lot; Ware from Troy and also Khalil Mack who played at University of Buffalo
    • I remember the Huddle consensus over the course of last season and the previous one. Lots of Bryce is a bust, we should've drafted a 4th slot WR, should've kept Wilks, should've kept an armless Cam, etc etc. So... yea... already thought about that. I wouldn't trust the Huddle to detail my car, let alone run a multi-billion dollar professional sports team. 😛
    • bold prediction, I think Mike Green will be the best pass rusher in this class, and thats even with abdul carter.  He reminds me of demarcus ware, not just in size and prowess, but even coming from a Sunbelt school (Ware from Troy, Green from Marshall).  I think he is passionate about the sport where I think Carter as the physical freak might not have the heart.  Thats the guy Im sold on and am gonna hammer the table for, I know he's not projected 8, but he is projected like 12-13, so if a slide back can happen and we still get the guy I want, I'm 100% on board. All that said, it takes 2 to tango, I think the Cowboys are the tango-er.  IMO theres a VERY good shot that Jeanty is available at 8.  Why does that matter?  Not only do the cowboys NEED a runningback (dak sucks without a run game), but MORE importantly, gee where did Jeanty play in high school.....Frisco TX, literally Dallas Metro.  Soo, RB is a position of need and the best RB and most blue chip draft selection that  could improve the offense immensly played IN dallas metro AND will be in range for them to move up and pick?  Do ya think Jerry Jones is gonna just say no to the Jersey Sales?  Jerry might have sexually assaulted a woman and attempted to prevent black people from going to school, but he's no idiot (he is).  IMO, we get a good enough package, prlly their first and third,  maybe a conditional later and we move to 12.  We get Green, they get Jeanty, everbuddy happy.
