Does a coach not try a 57 yard FG to end the half, when his kicker has show the ability to make those kicks?  Instead we try a pass across the middle which could easily be picked?

This (along with countless times of lack of in-game adjustments) is why Rivera should be gone ASAP regardless of our record.  The in-game decisions (when his job isn't on the line) are simply atrocious.

I'm surprised Rivera didn't just tell Cam to knee it. That play had no chance and just made him look worse.

In the same world where you tried a 55 yarder in a late game situation when making that kick would still mean that it's a two possession game and pinning the opposition deep with a strategic punt would be the wise call.

In other words, Rivera's world.

I thought FG was the right call there, but I wouldn't have been mad about a hail mary. What we ended up doing was absolutely indefensible though. We throw a ball 20 yards short of the endzone with 5 seconds to go on the clock when on the brink of FG range? Why???

I am not even that mad about this loss. At the end of the day we are still 4-2. How we lost and what transpired during the game is the real cause for concern. 5+ years now of the same poo from the coaching staff is starting to give me health issues. Shula's ineptitude and Ron's horrendous situational coaching / time management is sending my blood pressure through the roof.

Did anyone else notice after halftime the report from the lady on the sidelines??

She said... The Panthers kicker came right out after halftime to warm up and placed the ball at the would have been attempted spot.

Romo or the other guy asked... Did he make it?

She said... YES, and he looked over to the sidelines after it went through.

We all gave Gano poo last year for missing field goals but I seriously doubt ANYONE would question his leg strength. Dude has one of the best cannon's in the league in that regard.

Why they wouldn't let him even attempt it, at the end of the half, is beyond me. Just another in the long list of WTF Rivera moments throughout his tenure.
