  • Carolina Panthers defensive tackle Kawann short was dominant in his Week 5 matchup against the Detroit Lions. His 88.0 game grade lead the Panthers defense.
  • Short was nothing less than spectacular rushing the passer in this game. On 34 pass-rush snaps, he generated four total pressures with three being sacks. He also had two quarterback hits on plays nullified by penalties and routinely beat blockers on plays the ball came out quickly.
  • Short was also solid defending the run earning a run defense grade of 79.9. Despite only defending the run on nine snaps, Short managed to notch a run stop and beat his block on a few other plays.
  • On the season, Short now ranks fifth among defensive tackles in pass-rush productivity at 9.9 while leading all interior defenders in sacks with five.

Thought Short had 2 sacks ??? Also, 3 for the season?? ...anyway he's hitting his stride, which will be very important against this Eagles line who is damn near top 3. When KC beat Philly, pressure up the middle on Wentz was the primary reason. Our D-line must be motivated & angry.

One thing for sure ...they are 2-8 whenever Lane Johnson doesn't play and 9-2 when he does... he's currently in the protocol on a short week.

PFF counts half sacks as full. The idea is that the player did just as much regardless if his teammate was also there or not
