Should we have gotten flagged on McCaffrey’s TD?

Lmao, Charles Davis is so bad he gave my girl a headache from all the dumbass poo that was said. Dude belongs nowhere near a football game

Kenny Albert looks like he has down syndrome and if I have to hear Charles Davis say "he threw the ball up high, like when parents hide the presents on the top shelf, where the kids can't get it" again, I'm going to throw up. He said that poo twice on Sunday and he said that same poo against the Redskins in 2015 on a TD to Funchess. I'd take Ronde Barber and his pain pills over this nonsense.

Hah I agree. I’ll take ronde barber and torry holt over those two idiots any day. Charles Davis is the absolute worst because he (and his coworkers) act like he is some sort of football savant and all he does is regurgitate mindless drivel the entire time. Every now and then he’ll try to impress us by pulling out a “did you know that in 1962 such and such threw for 2 tds and ran for 57 yards” or some such mundane factoid he probably looked up before the game just for that purpose. He annoys the poo out of me.

Im actually surprised they didn't bring back the TD and call it even though you can't review that.

Also at the time of the pitch it looked as if Matt was THEN going upfield to block for a runner. But that may be me being a biased panther douche..

That forward shovel will be tricky going forward unless you're the patriots or the falcons. Hope we have different designs for that play and not that same film... because someone will take that back for a pick 6. We keep pounding but we all know those plays derail our offense for some TIME

I read the first page or two and did not see the answer--if the pass is caught behind the LOS then the linemen can be downfield.  Pretty sure that is the rule.  I need to watch it again, but I think this play depends on linemen blocking downfield.

I mean, yeah we should have, but oh well, I'll take it.

Kalil was like 3 yards downfield when the ball was pitched forward. Not sure how what happened wasn't supposed to be a penalty. Just look at how far downfield he made it:

Matt WAS engaged with the guy in front of him. He drove him back, then shoved him. This pick is at the moment just after the shove. So technically, this play stands.

My wrinkle for this play is to give the ball to Curtis. Not one defender went with him. He could have strolled in for a TD. Ah well, maybe next time Shula will run a play the way I want it run.

That is the college rule. So you are right in that it is a rule. Just wrong that it is a college rule, not a pro one.

At the very least, the announcers (two of the worst in the business, Charles Davis and Kenny Albert) and Blandino said it on air.  There was also a comment that said it in another thread here, which is what inspired me to make the thread.

Charles Davis was a Detroit homer on that game. Sounded like he attended the Mick Mixon school of broadcasting.

I think I heard them mention during the game that that was true for college but not the pros.

Which brings up another point, is it just me or does it seem like we are the most micro-analyzed team in the NFL? Like, ANY call or play that goes our way, the refs try to find EVERY little thing wrong with the play to discredit us? Sh*t is getting beyond irritating. And yet we keep that BS shield at midfield.

Ive been thinking the exact samething for a while. Something like this happens to the Pats, nothing is brought up. But every single time there's a close call for us, every one has to chime in and they call up all these officials/head of officiating/talking heads to tell us how it should be a penalty.
