Nfl lines rarely move a lot. It'll change by a point tops either way. Vegas knows what they're doing,  not going to put out a bad line.

I'll give this a shot for you. The line is is set by a handful of the best gaming brains in the business. The ultimate goal is for 50% of bets to go on one side of the line and 50 on the other side. So our opening line is -3. So if you bet on the Panthers they need to win by more than 3 for you to win.. The reason they want it to be 50/50 is cause their getting 10% anyway. So there's no risk if it's not bet to heavily on one side. I could go on and on but hope that makes a little sense.
