Beason's ploy better work

Yup, it was a big risk and it had better work because a rift between two captains on an 0-3 team with a struggling defense would not be a good thing.

Don't forget that just like Beason, Peppers teammates elected him as a captain, he is liked and respected in that locker room. Beason's call out could end up dividing that locker room into a Beason camp and a Peppers camp and that would be a disaster for this team.

I don't think Beason's comments were that harsh, but I think it would have been better for Beason to "keep it in the family" and have that talk with Peppers without announcing it on the radio.

I actually wonder if the team wasn't "influenced" to elect Peppers as a captain or thought that with everything that went on in the off-season that it was the "right" thing to do.

here's one interesting thing that i thought about.

what is fox's response to beason going to be for this? did fox know in advance what beason was going to be doing on the air? does beason have room on a leash that other players/coaches don't have?

if fox clamps down on beason for this what is the response from beason and the rest of the team going to be?

at least beason is trying something. i'm still trying to wrap my brain around his talking about it before hand on the radio...not sure that is something i agree with doing.

Code Red? :)

Personally I see it differently. I think the team knows who the real leader and captain of the defense is, and that's Beason. I'm sure many panthers were thinking the same thing Beason was on Monday night. The entire secondary would want Peppers to play better because it would certainly make their job easier. The defensive line knows the kind of crap he's been pulling so I'd be confident in saying that the defense goes through Beason.

Darin is just pissed because he wrote a big article Tuesday/Wednesday that you can't compare Allen and Peppers. Pretty much telling all us amateurs on the internet and fans that criticizing Peppers because of Allen's Monday night performance is just wrong and that you don't know what you are talking about. Apparently that "know nothing" Beason had similar thoughts as the masses.

You have a good point about that...but I think that Beason and the unnamed player who called him seem to have more concerns with the effort comparison not the stats comparison which I think was DG's main issue of contention (the stats).
