New starting safety this weekend?

Looks like Byrd will be starting this weekend, imo. 

 

Good news is the Lions are more of a running team. 

 

Predictions on how this turns out?

Is it that easy to learn our defense? Dude can just show up and play after a few days of practice? Should we not be expecting blown coverages? Lol.

Cover two safety is pretty much plug and play for a seasoned veteran. 

 

My question is how is he in game shape?

I'm excited to see what Byrd has left in the tank but his lack of speed at the FS position worries me. Lets hope for the best!

We typically run more C3 than C2 though. C3 is also pretty plug and play but requires greater range(game shape issue) and ability to read the play(mental sharpness) than C2. I think we may run C2 more often than usual to account for that, but the front 4 needs to get home without a blitz more often than they have and Detroit has a solid line outside Robinson.

His conditioning is a question. 

Him starting this weekend was nevet in question, once he was signed.
