Not going to be easy but if we can win this one then I will feel very confident in us being back to a Super Bowl caliber team. Especially once we get healed up

i agree, but i also want to wait until after the Philly game before i start using the "SB-caliber" term. this seems to be a gritty team that will win games, but lay an egg once in a while. i'll feel alot better if we win the next two weeks, and like you said, after we start getting guys back from injury.

dont get me wrong. im excited as fug and the sky is the limit right now. but the Saints game is still too fresh in my mind to have unbridled enthusiasm. a team that can be distracted or out-coached so easily, coupled with all our injuries, gives me alot of pause right now. im taking a "any given sunday" approach for the time being. we start stringing some high-profile wins together and i'll be alot more confident. will go a looooong way if we can win the gauntlet of NE, Detroit, and Philly.

Gun to my head, I would take the Lions in a close game.

Ansah against Kalil scares me. In a close game looking at the FG kickers is smart predictor and Prater is a money kicker and I don't quite trust Gano yet.

Key to us winning is a big game from Addison going against Greg Robinson who is garbage.

Over time, every Lions fan gets conditioned to expect the worst when the team starts doing well. On paper, and based on the past 4 weeks, I think, "Hey, they have a real shot at winning this game". But there lives inside of me a small demon creature, always casting doubt, warning me to always expect them to come out and just crap all over the bed. I'm talking morning after Taco Bell and a case of Milwaukee's Best Light.

I'm expecting another low scoring Minnesota type game. My concern is that they will spend too much of the game committed to running the ball, but it simply won't work out too well. You guys seem to defend that pretty good, and Detroit's running game is less than "dynamic".

Detroit - 19

Carolina - 17

I can respect this post.

I am having a really hard time hating Lions fans...I mean just great dudes who have had it rough for the majority of my life.

Another Lion fan here.

Panthers will be going into a very loud and hostile environment against a team with a lot of confidence.  Have to play Stafford for four quarters.

Panthers have a lot of talent, very tough defense. It will come down to turnovers and penalties IMO.

You guys won't put up 30 against that D at Ford Field.

Got the Lions in a tight one, 23-20.

Except it's one of the easiest stadiums to get group tickets at.

Going to be a close game.

The offense will need to be clicking again because Detroit's defense is certainly not the mess the Pats fielded.
I think the defense will bounce back after getting beat up by two hall of famers. Detroit has found a lot of success running the ball it seems and we know that stopping the run is where we excel. Now, Stafford could beat us through the air but if we take away the ground and safety play is serviceable, I think we pull it out.

Carolina wins 24-21 with another heart attack scheduled for us in the 4th.

ALLEN PARK -- The Lions (3-1) held off the first-place Vikings in Minnesota on Sunday, while Carolina (3-1) upended New England in Foxborough. That sets up an interesting clash of division leaders on Sunday at Ford Field. And the Lions intend to pack the house.

The club announced they're selling standing room tickets for the game, which is expected to be one of the hottest in Week 5. Those tickets will cost $50 apiece and are available at the team's website.

There are also a few single-game suites available for the matchup.

The Lions haven't hosted Cam Newton since picking him off four times in a 49-35 win during his rookie year in 2011. Newton finished 22 of 38 passing for 280 yards and one touchdown that day, plus the four picks.

Detroit's defense already has already picked off seven passes this year, which is second in the league, and 11 takeaways overall. That leads the league.

It'll be an interesting clash of the league's most opportunistic defenses against one of the league's most dynamic quarterbacks. And there should be a packed house on hand to witness it, as Detroit and Carolina battle for supremacy in the NFC.
