He struggles a great deal in pass pro. Decent in run blocking.

I still don't understand how Matt Kalil could have such a stellar college career and now just whiff on block after block. He had one man to block on that play and the guy just shoved him out of the way.

Matt looks like he was going for the wrong block at first and then got to his assignment late.

To be fair for Matt Kalil, he’s learning a new offense. Most of his mistakes seem to be more related to adjusting to a new environment rather than pure skillset.

Then again, he has a lot to prove to not be a liability.

It kinda looks like he is expecting a chip block from CMC so that he can help the inside then immediately peel to the outside guy after the chip.. The chip just never came from CMC due to being too late to the edge or him just setting free on his route. Who knows. I will say though that the Larsen bit was him just getting rekt.

On the brightside, it looks as if Cam finally has confidence in the short passes and/or the receivers to get YAC.

im really hoping Cam's ailments have been from lack of practice and not the crappy pocket hes been having to deal with. This GIF helps with that notion.
