with the free agency pool of safeties being bad.  I think Byrd was the right signing.  Familiar with the division foes, decent in run support, coverage is a bit suspect.  did have 56 solo and 26 assist tackles last year 3 PBUs and 2 INT.

I can't find where he was rated as far as a grade on PFF or any outlet.  But i think this will be a decent signing if we didn't overpay.

now we need to address the fact we have ZERO speed at WR outside an injured rookie.  Every year we go Ginn-less we see the consequences of how opposing Ds play is with no one to stretch the field.   That is going to show when we aren’t playing league worst Ds

i'm not hating this at all.

can't say there's a better option out there and apparently the FO and coaching staff isn't trying to sell the "answer is on the roster" line.

may not pay off, but at least it's a sign they're all in on trying to take it all this year.

I mean I'm happy we're trying to get help at least, no matter how this pans out.   Colin Jones is absolutely terrible, I'd rather put Shaq or Kyle Love defending than him.

There is has been major turn over in the league at that position due to the the pace and style of offenses nowadays..

safties are being expected to be more dynamic with there athletic abilities..

David Newton probably thinks that "D"arius Byrd plays goalie, which is the reason we havne't been hitting any home runs this year.

Only 30, wow nice to get some young blood in at safety! But yeah like the move, will be interesting to see how he performs.
