It's a huge part of his mojo. He really comes to life when he gets that first down an  it ends up making every other part if his game better. He needs to have that freedom. Everyone benefits from it.

Totally agree.

As for my tin foil hat theory:

Many have said Cam hasn't been the same since the season opener in Denver. I honestly didn't see a huge didfernce. Where I saw a real change in his play is when he got the concussion in Atlanta.

I've been hit hard in the face quite a few times and when you get hit hard enough (like causing a concussion) it f ucks with your mind.

When he ran for that first down and jumped up and said "F yes" ...I personally felt like it was on.  It takes a little while to get that confidence back and sure enough he showed the old Cam.

Expect more of the same.

Just my theory.

I really hate how much people try to downgrade Cam’s abilities as a passer.

No reason to hate on haters man.

If I ever get in that conversation, the quickest answer is "grab your phone, google the stats and awards since he's  been in the league"

Debate over.

Your welcome. :shades:

I bet you’re fun at parties.

Yes, actually. I just fail to fall for this team being much of anything outside of average. We have been let down more often than not and I’m not convinced this season will be any different.  We beat the one of, it not the worst defenses in the league.  I’m not impressed. The Falcons will wear the ass out of this team and we won’t have a cake walk with the Bucs and we all know the saints give us fits.

He said he's not even watching the games anymore so his opinion is pointless

And I haven’t watched. I just think it’s hilarious how you homers watch this crappy team beat the worst defense in the nfl and all of a sudden we are elite. This team ain’t even close.

Like the man didn't break the rookie record for passing yards his first 2 games, AND the season.....ON HALF OF A TRAINING CAMP! He's been a complete package it's disrespectful, the issue is the coach he's been forced to grow with. Had Cam came in with Andy Reid,  Sean Payton, Hue Jackson, Chip Kelly,  or anyone great with molding talent Cam could have been the first ever to avg 4k passing, 600 rushing, and 40+ TDs total. That's the type of talent he has. Ron and Shula were horrible coaches for him to grow with.

Does anyone question that he's a great dual threat QB? Maybe the best ever? For me, the issue is not whether or not he runs, but how he runs. His arrogance (often a helpful trait in sportsmen) is both a strength and an Achilles heel. I love seeing him use his attributes to overpower players in short yardage and especially goal-line situations. What I hated most about last season was seeing him roll out of the pocket and then saunter forwards as if nobody would think to tackle him. He has to realise that whether he intended it or not he is one of the most disliked characters in the NFL, a recent MVP, a marked man, and people want nothing more than to lay a hit on him. So he needs to choose when to run so that the variables are in his favour rather than setting himself as up as a sitting duck. Loved his TD on the weekend.
