Nitpick - The defense isn't creating turnovers and Rivera is still playing not to win

Not worried about the lack of turnovers. Keep playing well on that side of the ball and they'll come.

Rivera being conservative with a lead? Unfortunately, it's just who he is. It's not gonna change. More often than not we're going to take our foot off the gas and hope to hang on. It's a chicken poo way to play the game, but it's a typical defensive minded coach approach.

I'm not sure that really works this time.  The goal up two scores should be to shorten the game.  Panthers D actually forced a 4th and 3 on the next to last drive but couldn't get off the field.  New England took 4 minutes while passing every down which burned a surprising amount of clock.  Playing aggressively could have allowed New England bigger chunk plays and burned a much shorter amount of time.

Meanwhile, when the panthers got the ball up 7, they threw 2 passes.  Normally they would run up the middle 3 times.  They were clearly more aggressive this time than in the past and it resulted in a clock-stopping incompletion and a sack.

I find it harder than most to fault a game-winning strategy.

My problem was with the time management and play calling right at the end. Instead we took a really long time to set up a qb dive. We should have gotten a closer field goal attempt. That was infuriating.

Settling for a 48 yard field goal from any kicker, especially one as questionable as Gano, is a head scratcher

Our defensive players arent catching what should be interceptions

Yep. Luke dropped an interception last week and there was another drop on the goal line this week. That's against two QBs who very rarely throw picks. The chances were there.

I was honestly fine with the decision to play for a field goal on the last drive. It was a tie game within Gano's range. Run the clock down and go for the win, minimize the risk. Someone has already said it but I could 100% have seen a sack upcoming if we went for the jugular, which probably would have taken us out of field goal range.

It's like nobody watched the Super Bowl last year. The Falcons tried to get aggressive against the Patriots late in the game with a lead. How'd that go?

I say trust your best player, put the ball in his hands and let Cam make the play.

Well I am assuming this topic is discussing the final two plays of the game that were QB sneaks. At that point you are easily in Gano's range, barring he doesn't hook it left. So I would be really hesitant to take a shot and risk a sack or interception. Especially if the game is tied and we have the ability to run the clock all the way down.
