Time for Duke?

With Byrd suffering a broken forearm and the panthers needing speed, do we activate Austin Duke from the practice squad? Complete disclosure, Im a UNCC homer and totally looking for any reason for him to see the field on game day.

I just didn't know how likely because of Kurt Colemans injury and if we needed to get someone at safety now too

Highly doubt it. Duke needs the time and reps on the practice squad before he's ready to make the jump.

I’m a Niner grad too, and I like Duke a lot, but I don’t know if he is ready yet. Seems to be a practice field phenom, but his play hasn’t translated to game day. Some time on the practice squad will do him good. 

 

Honestly, we may be better off bringing someone like Philly back who knows the system, and could likely contribute immediately.
