I have been a Panther fan since the day we were awarded a Franchise. I have been honored to meet Mr. Richardson a couple of times, of which I take great pride. It is a truly unique experience to be involved in a Franchise from its inception. As the vast majority of fans root for teams that have been around long before they were born.

That said, we all know it's Lions week. And herein lies my delimma. I have been a Lions fan for over 50 years. I still follow them, and read/watch whatever/whenever I can. And I absolutely hate having to root against them this week.

So, here is where the favor comes in. Is it possible my Huddle Brethren, can you all find it in your hearts? To keep the Lions bashing civil? I mean, sure you can dis them all you want. But please, please keep the name calling to a minimum? That is all I ask. Don't force me to defend them on here, by trolling me. That ain't right.  lol

So to reiterate. I am a Panther fan. Who happens to have been rooting for the Lions longer than most of you have been alive. So treat me nice would ya?

No one really wants to bash the Lions anyway.  They've sucked for so long that they are kind of an everyman's team.

Edit:  And I love them for it!  fuging A if the Lions won the Superbowl I'd have nothing to complain about except the Panthers which is par for the course.

Here is the one stat that kills me. In my lifetime. The Lions have played in 9 Playoff games, and won 1. Barry never won a Playoff game.

Of all Lions players to never have a chance.  Barry tried so hard for that poo team they kept building around him :(

Between crappy GMs/Coaches, and QBs, the dude never had a chance. Panther fans think JR is meddlesome. The Fords' make him look like a hermit. Other than Millen, no one stuck around long enough to build anything.

LOL Here, folks complain JR won't fire a Coach. In Detroit, fans complain the Fords' were never afraid to fire a Coach.

I like the Lions. No reason to hate that franchise at all.

But for this week, it’s all how the Panthers are superior in every facet, how Stafford will soon be exposed as a fraud, and how many sacks will Julius Peppers get on Greg Robinson - arguably the 2nd worst tackle in the NFL.

Any other week, and I’m rooting for their franchise.

I am of the belief that the Panthers do have the better roster. That Robinson is still struggling, and Pep, or/and Addy could very well harass Matty all game.

Rooted for them last week.  Felt like a Lions fan with the result.  Won't repeat.

Well, you cannot be a Lions fan if you are giving up on us. Lions fans are loyal. Also, the Hot Takes in Detroit this week were, "After years of finding new ways to lose, the Lions add yet another one." lol

You cannot find a Lions fan who will admit Tate didn't score. lol The play was called a TD, and the replay showed nothing to change that call.

I'm in the same situation.  People don't understand what it feels like to be a fan of a franchise as perennial S-hitty as the Lions - well maybe if you're an NCSU fan like I am too.  To see them play the way they are is akin to the last eclipse.  In other words it doesn't happen often!

I still want the Panthers to crush them, but really hope they do well this year.

    • First of all Sooners fan? Mods? Second if you think someone needs a specific reason to hate Texas you don’t watch real college football.
    • 100% even if rest of team is really talented if they march young out to be qb and he plays like he has for 90% of his starts the panthers have already lost doesnt even matter how good the rest of the team is or isnt and also makes it hard to even tell how good they are.  They need true competition for young this offseason.
    • It will be awesome to have an improved stadium to lose in I guess....   https://www.yahoo.com/news/panthers-file-rezoning-bank-america-111500840.html     The Carolina Panthers have taken another necessary step toward renovating their home of the present and future. Panthers Stadium, LLC, filed its rezoning site plan with the city of Charlotte on Monday, initiating an important — if mostly technical — step toward renovating Bank of America Stadium. The filings state that the rezoning relates “primarily to technical aspects associated with improvements to Bank of America Stadium,” and that the rezoning is required because “the current stadium zoning is out of date” for the team’s stadium renovation plans.   The planned stadium updates include new seats installed throughout the upper and lower bowls; stadium safety and security enhancements; a reimagined South Lawn Pavilion; upgraded restrooms; exterior enhancements (including LED video boards) and more. Planning for the stadium renovation project will continue through 2025, with construction starting in 2026 and the renovation’s conclusion in 2029, The Observer previously reported.
