Julius Peppers looked ten years younger today: Defensive MVP for first quarter!

Even in my wildest dreams I didn't expect he'd be this good, and I was a huge fan of bringing him back. 4.5 sacks in four games is incredibly impressive for any pass-rusher, let alone a 37-year old He was harassing Tom Brady all day and it was glorious.

I don't have a GIF of this, but the single best play of the game for me was when Peppers somehow managed to sack Tom Brady while being held the entire time by Nate Soldier. He still manhandled him and gave Brady a very awkward landing. The fact he can still do that is crazy. Hats off, Pep - you're back home!

Now let us go back in time to where @SIGCHI222 revealed what Julius Pepper's goals were.

When Julius Peppers saw the Carolina Panthers defensive line in action, he saw potential for greatness. Looking around at his new teammates on the field, Julius Peppers can’t help but feel excitement for the upcoming season. With the talent around him, he expects himself to gain 10 sacks and surpass Doleman on the all-time sack list. He also hopes he’ll be around long enough to pass Kevin Greene as well.

But most of all, Peppers expects to see himself play until he’s 39 and retire with two Superbowl rings. He knows he’s still playing at a high level and that he brings a lot as a pass rusher. Peppers also understands that the Panthers have a very talented roster that’s capable of going to multiple Superbowls. He knows that if everyone stays healthy and plays their role, they’ll be finding themselves with multiple rings on their fingers.

Keep Pounding Brother.  Thank you for the acknowledgement.

He's one happy motherfather tonight.  :)

P.S.  Sargent Barrett still lives!

    • First of all, loved this video. I watched last night.   I normally not one to do, I told you so's,,,,, Most around here hated the fact Dan Morgan was promoted to GM.  In my eyes, he had paid his dues, and had earned the opportunity to run a team.  I dont know how anybody can be against him at this point.  He lives and breathes football.  He absolutely is the right man for the job.  I also have to give him credit for bringing Dace C, and Tillis.  This franchise has the best front office it has ever had, IMO.  And under Teppers ownership.     Keep pounding Dan.
    • He’s blowing up with the ladies on the tikitok
    • I met him at an OTA when he was rookie.  I liked him, and so did my small children.  I got a photo of him with my kids, and his nylon stretch shirt was ripped off his shoulder and down his side.  I remember thinking, "This was an OTA.  He must have been battling so hard (going full speed) that the OT grabbed him and ripped off his shirt."   Normally, there is a "rule" that you stop when you are not in full pads when the other player shows that he controlled you or is in position to--like pulling up and not hitting the RBs.  I got the feeling that he was going full throttle.  Just speculation, but it was consistent with what we would learn about him.
