What made you think that?  Anyone paying attention would see NE is having a down year.  Yeah we can play with playoff teams but can we win enough tough games to win it all?

They may be having a down year but they still have that guy under center and you can never count him out. Not to mention the best offense in the league. A down year for them yeah, but Ill put money on them being in the playoffs and probably getting bye for the first round too.

I'm not willing to bet on a first round bye but I certainly would on them being a playoff team.  Unfortunately even the greatest quarterback can't do everything.

That said NE has been so legendarily good for so long I don't want to bet against them either but it really looks like a down year for them... at least from a NE standard.

It’s open season in the NFC. Panthers, Falcons, and Packers are all 3-1 but banged up. Eagles and Rams have surprised, and share the record, as does a solid Lions team. A young Bucs team is a half-game behind at 2-1, and Seahawks and Cowboys can’t be ruled out at 2-2, given their previous seasons’ successes.

Looking like a great year so far.  Of course I'd like to see the Panthers be more dominant but that's why we play the games.

What's really crazy for me this year is how it is just the beginning of a new era in the NFL.  So many actually good young players have come in the past couple years that everything has begun to change.  I'm sure you and most others see the opportunity at this point.

Next week will show what the Panthers really are this season.  I hope we get the bounces.  These first four games have fortunately considering our record been almost practice games as far as planning is concerned.

Edit:  I fuged up my punctuation; figure it out.

I feel like someone's going to say this game determines what we are the season at least every week every game until we are Least at week 12
