kudos on hitting the fg that shouldn't have us all as worried as it did, but he still missed an extra point.

Gostkowski's missed one this year as well.

By my count, that's one game winner after losing 4 games last year. Seems to me, he's got 3 more to go and missing the XP wasn't good. He hits 3 more game winners and I'm good with him.

No saying he's the next Vinatieri but he was injured much of last year.

He's one of the top paid kickers in the league. He should be making these kicks, and he shouldn't still be missing XP's. That's inexcusable. All Panthers fans here know they held their breath like their life depended on it when he lined up for the game winning kick.

Great start to the season, but who in here can honestly say they had full confidence in Gano on that last kick? He still has some catching up to do for that Denver game last year, missed kick in the superbowl, missed XP against SEA, etc., but it's a step in the right direction. Hopefully his injury last year really was an excuse and he kicks lights out for us this year. That's what we're paying him top 5 money for.

The PAT miss was bad but I really think it might have saved us the game IF we held the Pats on the 2 pt conv.  Say it was 31-29, they go for the 2 and miss.  That keeps the lead in our hands.  Rivera then inevitably runs the ball three times (Pats still had all 3 timeouts), which gets Tom the ball back with like 1:20 left or so just needing a field goal to win.  The miss may have been a blessing in disguise.
