Wow. This throw hurts my shoulder.

Well..I may be buying into the theory Cam's shoulder was not 100% at the Saints game after this one throw.

GIF

Throwing motion looked like a bullet at first...and then...um. The throwing motion doesn't look normal. Put his whole body into the throw and it turned into a floater. Would not be surprised to hear his shoulder was bothering him on that throw.

Yeah. Cam's not healthy.

I am truly sorry. But, if you are going to critique Cam's throws. Maybe you could use one where he isn't being harassed. Like one in a clean pocket. Then we can pick it apart.

Plus, it was a completion. Are we now to the point where even completions are not up to snuff?

My only complaint with that play, is the fact the ball could have been delivered sooner. Although, that was not his first read. So we have that going for us.

That wasn't a critique.

That's me being concerned his shoulder isn't healthy. That was a bullet that turned into a floater. His throwing motion looked painful.

So now, when Cam does actually put touch on the ball, he must be hurt? After all these years of us wanting Cam to learn to put touch on those shorter throws. That when he does, he is hurt? On a play where he was being harassed? C'mon man.

To me, it looked like at the last minute he saw McC, And just tossed the ball to him. No bullet, no problem. Completions are where it's at.

Now, if it had been a clean pocket with that throw? I may agree. But man, that is a tough throw to critique. At least in my opinion it was.

Yeah, he got hit while he was throwing. That tends to impact things.

The two biggest things that tell me his shoulder is bothering him are that 1) he's still limited in practice and 2) I've seen him shake his arm out more than once this season after a throw.

Same play, 3 different perspectives. @Saca312 sees a bullet that wound up being the duck, you see Cam getting disrupted, and I see Cam seeing CmC at the last minute, and adjusting his throw. Yeah, film will help this crowd figure things out. lol (I guess that is why fans, no matter how experienced, will never truly know what is going on. Cuz in that clip, Cam is the only one that knows what happened.)

The practice thing does bother me. And I truly believe the reason we haven't seen many down the field throws? Cam still isn't comfortable. His confidence level is a tad low. He will look good on a few throws. Like the finish of the 9ers game, or the start of the Bills game.

I mean, that first drive against the ain'ts, he looked great. Until 3rd and 6, and whack. Everything seemed to snowball from there.

A happy, and healthy, Cam? We are golden Jerry, gold. That just ain't happening right now. But man, this weeks game could set a great tone if we could beat them AGAIN. I mean, other than those pesky SBs, we have their number.

    • I didn't say much bigger. Watch the highlights I linked. Bryce doesn't have the arm strength and/or talent to make the vast majority of the throws Mac made in that video.
    • Tetairoa McMillan.   The last 28 1st overall picks were either a QB, DE, or OT. Seeing as I don't think we'd take an OT in the 1st and give up on Ickey as an LT yet and there doesn't seem to be a clear overall #1 type of QB or DE pick this year, it very well could be a non conventional #1 overall this year, at least in regards from the last almost 3 decades of drafts. If we didn't have Horn, I'd be more open to Hunter as a CB at #1, but we have him so another CB wouldn't be how I'd use a #1 pick.  And as much as I love Legette, if we have SB contending aspirations, I don't think Legette is a #1 on a team like that, but he damn sure is an elite #2 on a team like that.  He's more of the Smith/Higgins/Waddle to Brown/Chase/Hill (in terms of role/impact, not style of play of course). T-Mac is going to be the top ranked WR on every team's board in the end.  He is going to be a true outside #1 WR who is viewed as a consensus Top 5 WR in the game by his second contract in the same way guys like Jefferson and Chase have done.  His height combined with his speed, athleticism, and hands are near impossible to find all in one player, there is a reason his generally used comp is Mike Evans (although as he's not as thick, I personally see him more as an AJ Green). Yes, as an Arizona alum I've admitted to having bias towards the player to begin with.  But he's also someone very widely being put into the Top 5 in mock drafts lately and most of them have him as the first non QB offensive player being taken, so it's not really THAT much of a homer pick on my part anyways. If a QB or DE truly separate themselves as being a can't miss prospect come draft day, I'm open to that discussion, but until then, or if it doesn't happen, T-Mac is my pick 100 times out of 100.
