Agent 89 Is Throwing a Retirement Party...in Baltimore.

It's Official...Hudllers are a bunch of keyboard bully pop tarts... A bunch of negative remarks about the best WR to ever wear a Panther uniform. "I thought that with DG gone, SS would surely retire a Panther." " and this why he is ringless" " Charles Tillman retired a Panther". The team that he poured his heart out for bc they gave him a chance that he made much more of than they expected. That same team tossed him out like a rag doll. He felt disrespected by that way it was handled and he deserved better. He deserved to have been treated like someone the team was proud of and held to high regard. So he signed with a team that showed him that they still believed in him and worked him into their game plan to the degree that he was comfortable and even happy with their plan. They did that bc they knew that he could still ball in an above average range, but most importantly they knew that he had something to prove and by giving him that respect and opportunity, it would be a win win. I don't blame SS, I wouldn't retire a Panther either, not after being treated like that. Yeah, DG was the one that signed off on it, but everyone knows that SS had a very close relationship with JR, so him being treated the way he did, i'm sure that felt like a dagger. Even though it's been pulled out, the wound may be healed, but the scar is still there.

So what is it I said that you disagree with...

The fact that you seem to have taken it personally that a guy who was on the decline (at least here) and creating drama in the locker room was released.  One player is never above the entire team or franchise.  Releasing Steve Smith was done for the greater good of the team.

I would guess this is more something he wants to do to raise money for his charity than a final retirement celebration. Still, it’d be weird for Charles Tillman to have a retirement extravaganza in Carolina when he made his career in Chicago.

On a unrelated and just a human interest side note, read recently where Tillman is is training to become an FBI agent. Trying to get in before he hits the 37 year age cut off for FBI agent new hires.

What I take personally, is people discrediting the best WR to wear a Panthers uniform. He may have only been on a decline here due to his age but he was still easily the best WR on roster and the only WR with a chip on his shoulder. Now our WR just run their routes with no aggression, no sale of the route, reaching up for the pass to early giving away the balls location. Greater good of team, no... To make people comfortable, yes. You need a WR with a chip on his shoulder. You need a WR to play with that fire. You need a WR to speak against poor play calling and bad decisions. Without those things, we have a mediocre WR group, fustrated fans and lost games against teams we should easily beat.
