Baldy on a Cam sack

This.

Look, Cam has maybe 7-8 more years in his career before the physical toll will force him from the game before he wants to go. By the same measure that his physical attributes made him an anomaly at the QB position, those same attributes will soon become liabilities as the injuries mount.

We've seen the best of Cam Newton and he will likely never surpass his own best season. It's remarkable how many fans on this board continue to talk, beg and plead for better coaching, changing mechanics, changing play style, etc. It's not gonna happen. What Cam is today is what Cam will be next season and 4 seasons from now. You might get away with coaching a kid up during his first 3-4 years if you have that luxury, but it's not happening 7 years into a career. The Carolina Panthers will live and die by Cam Newton as long as he is the starting QB and hoping for some revelation that will turn him into a 65-67% completion rate, consistent 90+ rating player is probably not happening either.

Cam's legs are no longer a DC nightmare. Any DC worth half his salary knows all he needs is decent pass coverage and holding the edge, forcing Cam to throw from the pocket. Save for Shepard and Samuel, there isn't a WR on the roster who is going to run past anyone and separation is a mythical occurrence which does not happen in Charlotte. I'll give Cam a couple running 1st downs  a game in exchange for a 61% completion rate and a 2-pick per game average.

Bottom line- Cam Newton no longer intimidates, causes insomnia, keeps HCs guessing or DBs worried. What you see is what you got.

Absolutely perfectly said!
