yep, we can close the book on that poorly handled position decision now. sure it's not the most consequential roster move ever made, but it's disheartening to see such a (presumably) straightforward roster move handled so sloppily.

How was this a poor decision exactly?

I didn't say the decision itself was poor. for all I know they picked the right kicker in the end. but the manner at which they arrived at that decision and enacted it was poor, and I think we can and should expect better.

We still have Gano and don't have the confidence in him to take a shot at a field goal from the opponent's 35.

Plus per reports there were offers made. We just apparently thought we could hold out for a better one.

It may not have netted us anything major, but something would have been better than nothing.

They tried to see if they could get something for one of them and it didn't work out. In the end it had zero affect on the roster. Why is that a poor decision? It's so irrelevant.

I don't think this is true at all.

I believe it.

Bottom line: We're currently led by a brainrust that, more often than not, just makes the wrong decision.

There's not a specific pattern, i.e. it's not always too conservative or always too risky or always whatever. It's just that whatever path they choose has an unfortunate tendency to be the wrong one.

also pretty myopic to say a roster move in a league where all 53 spots are treasured, particularly at the 90-> cutdown, is irrelevant

Regardless of what we would have used the space for, this whole idea of holding a second kicker for a trade as some kind of savvy move just shows the current leadership of this franchise is playing checkers.

We're wasting time and energy on low value items, we're ignoring big issues and not even taking the easy steps to solve our actual problems.

This team's leadership is blind to what does and does not matter in the NFL and this kicker ordeal is just a clear example of it.
