NE is dead last against yards. 31st against the rush.

To put this in perspective Saints have a better run defense before week 3 than the 49ers (17th).

Yeah this game could give our o-line a break.

Saints were 17th against the run heading into that game. NE was 31st already against the rush in the NFL only behind the Colts IIRC. 

Sure, Saints may have given up ‘more total yards’, but they also went against some top tier offenses in the Patriots and Vikings (yes, Vikings have Thielen, Diggs, and had Bradford with a competent o-line. They’re an offense on the rise).

Patriots went against the Chiefs, Saints, and Texans. While a pass can be given for the Chiefs and Saints, the Texans are the last team you should be giving up 38 on. Their big weakness is their awful front seven. No rush at all except an occasional one from Flowers, and he’s even injured IIRC.

Patriots defense has been 32nd in the NFL in DVOA, really the NFL’s true worst defense. Unlike the Saints, their weakness is in their front seven.

Our o-line may actually get an extra second lol.
