McCaffrey's Post Game Quote

Boo hoo.  World is ending, right?  Guess they'll never do what "I" want as a fan.  Because "fans" are always right.

I get being disappointed, lord knows I am.  We expected our team to come out and run the score up on the Saints.  Then they found a backbone.  This is the NFL.  The salary cap has created a sense of parity.  The difference in teams is much smaller than most of us think.

So there are days when even the worst teams can beat the best teams.  It happens.  We're far from the best, and we need to get our offensive cards in order.  With Olsen gone for a while and KB out for a little bit, now is the time to get back to basics as Igo said.  We have to account for getting Samuel up to speed and into position much faster instead of simply relying on inhuman plays.

One game doesn't end a season.  We're still 2-1.  I really doubt we'll lose another 13 in a row. The team usually responds, and next week versus New England is as good a time as any to step up and reclaim our season.

Cam Newton plays better and his accuracy goes up after he runs the ball. That's who he is. That's how he calms down and gets into rhythm.

This trying to change Cam is starting to be an exercise in stupidity. He's not Brees or Brady, nobody is. Cam Newton can be better than BOTH because of who he is and what he do. Run Cam run!

I find it sad that CMC is currently the best receiving option and yet is only targeted when nobody else can get open. He's open all the time and just isnt even looked at. When he gets the ball, the offense moves down field. He should've had 20 catches for 200 yards. Do it until they stop it and if they don't, let him push the offense into the endzone over and over. Take what the defense gives you and get your stars and playmakers the ball. Every time either CMC or Samuel touched the ball, the ball moved down the field. So get them more involved. Jeez.

pretty much this

If it takes his running to have an effective offense then this team is doomed.  You cannot continue to run your franchise QB and expect him to have a long career.   Newton will not survive another season of getting pounded the way he does.

He actually is safer running. He gets pounded when he's back there trying to be a statue. Cam SHOULD run more. He's a better QB when he does and is a dominant force when he does like 2015.

Yes he can be a good pocket passer but I'd rather him be MVP because of what he is, not what he isn't.  They have to stop trying to put a square peg in a round hole.

For some reason coaches have this mind set that we have to evenly distribute the ball and not go back to plays that work. fug that. Give it to whoever is getting you yards and keep running the same damn play until it doesn't get you positive yards.

LOL Shula does not know how to set teams up by playcalling let lone play design.Maybe its the players that are running theplays wrong but having multiple wrs in the same area is a recipe for disaster

No one is saying run him like a rb., but Cam needs a few design runs and he needs to stop standing there like a statue in the pocket ..Inthe pocket is where the hits mount up..I would rather be able to brace myself for a hit or give a hit than to be blindsided or just knocked to the ground..Dbs don't fear Cam standing there like a statue but they do when he is running... This traditional QB is ****** Cam up. Now once Cam gets comfortable then he is all good.

If he runs he becomes a running back and has no protections afforded a QB.  That first sentence makes absolutely no sense.

What you are suggesting is that he cannot become a better pocket passer because he needs to run.  I have never heard anymore suggest that about any other QB to make them successful.   A dual threat QB he may be but he only should run if he has no choice.  Designing a run game around a running QB is foolish and will only work, if ever, for a short time until your QB gets injured.

What we need is an OC that knows what he is doing or stock up on running QB's because we're going to need them.
