I saw bad tackling, bad blocking and bad passing. How much of that was caused purely by bad coaching, I don't know, but execution today was terrible. It looked like a bunch of people either waiting on the big money contract or just having received the big money contract half-assing it.

I get what you're saying OP. I tend to agree on the surface.

Unfortunately, it's Rivera's penchant for never learning or adapting moving forward from these past tough losses, and his eagerness to hitch his wagon to Shula that brings me right back to reality.
