What CMC can't do (Get a 1st down on 3rd and 1)

If you draft a RB at #8 even if the player is hailed as more of an elusive, pass catching back, I need to know that back can get the first down.

There was a 3rd and 1 on Sunday and we ran it with CMC. Get the first down, no excuses, you get the 1st down on 3rd and 1 if you're a RB if not you suck. 3rd and 1 in NFL for any respectable RB should be a 1st down and seen as a fail if not.

1) I believe we have held other teams to 0-4 on 4th and short. Those RBs included Hyde and McCoy. Hyde is average but I don't think anyone can question that McCoy is elite. It's hard to gain a yard when the defense knows it's coming.

2) What if I told you that RB we drafted at #8 was not drafted to be a RB, but a pass-catcher? CAP will hold down bulldozing duties in the future while CMC will continue to get 10-15 touches a game. It's been 2 games. I think you need a little more tape before coming to a conclusion.

No RB is worth a top 10 pick unless you are a true 3 down back that can do everything. People hated me for comparing CMC to Reggie Bush/Theo Riddick/Danny Woodhead, yet that's exactly what he looks like. Not necessarily a waste of a pick, but #8 was WAY too high for a player like CMC tbh

Reggie Bush was drafted #2 overall ny the Saints.

BPA is always gonna be BPA.

You're right. CMC hasn't even had enough time nor opportunity to draw a conclusion.

On an off note, Hyde has his injury history, but when he's stayed on the field he has been very much above average.

You are telling me CMC is not a mean bulldozer RB who can grind out the hard fought yards while pushing two linebackers out of the way?

But look at his legs! So thick!

I've really like what I've seen out of CMC as a receiver but as a RB the guy is going down on first contact almost every carry.
