Anyone here ever had to do this before? any suggestions?

I like this ring, but dont like that its coming from an online retailer, I would much rather buy something from someone face to face even if it costs a bit more because if I'm going to sink some money on a ring I'd like to know who is getting my money.

GF's favorite color is purple and loves nature, so idea was a purple stone is a with a "flower" look.

I went back and forth on buying online vs face to face in a jewelry store and ended up opting to go with a local jeweler..

i was able to negotiate down pretty good by having the online price for a similar diamond and it just felt more personable going with the local jeweler.

i know friends that have bought from bluenile and were pleased with it, but I just couldn't do it personally.

just my two cents.

There's pros to both options

we had issues with her ring early on the one of the stupid little pave diamonds in her halo would fall out so it was nice to be able to take it to the jeweler and have them fix it with no cost...it happened twice and no charge.

plus free deep cleaning for life

I used blue nile 12 years back now and was very pleased.

The diamond I got had much better clarity and cut features then similar priced ones.   But since this was over a decade back things may have changed.

Same here

I used Blue Nile but back in 2003, I was able to get the cut and clarity I wanted at a fair price compared to other online retailers or brick and mortar stores.

& they worked with me to customize it exactly how I wanted I was very pleased.

I believe I got 3 free cleanings and 1yr warranty for fixing anything that went wrong with the settings.

Never had to have it repaired & no problems.

Find a woman who doesnt give a poo about shiny rocks...

j/k (but kinda not... She is going to love it if you give her a ring made of bailing wire and quartz because she is a great chick that loves you)

Found a locally owned jewelry store in Gboro, gave them specs, and am still married 30ish years later.

Diamond direct is a scam don't listen to Arsen. I'm not engaged but i have a lot of diamond rings and jewelry in general go to a pawn shop that's the best bargain get a good price on a used wedding ring that someone pawned from divorce

Right... I'm sure his fiancé to be would love to know he purchased her engagement ring from pawn shop.  Great story to tell when everyone asks where she got it "Oh, the pawn shop on Central and Pecon!  I swear it's not stolen!"
