Shula unrest

Does Jerry Richardson have a history of being overly loyal and keeping players and coaches way past their prime?  Rivera will always be an old school defensive conservative coach at heart.  He has made a lot of effort to override these tendencies but it's difficult.  But the organization as a whole is built on that knuckle down and work harder doing the same thing even if it's not working mentality.

They "Keep Pounding", that round peg into a square hole.

The Shula bashing is getting out of hand. Our QB is rusty and inaccurate. Our tackles can't block poo. Our receivers can't get separation or are dropping touchdown passes. Basically we can't fuging execute and all you retards are too blind to see it. This was the best offense in the league two years ago with Shula at the helm with Cam healthy. Use your head instead of listening to the masses.

Lol were you here during the 2013 playoffs where Shula called 4 straight up the middle goaline runs and then did the same thing again later on in the 2nd quarter?

Did you not see the Superbowl where Shula gave no help to his offensive tackles against the best DE tandem in the NFL that year? Did you not see even in the 2nd half, he still gave no help to them

Did you not hear the Broncos D said we ran exactly what they saw on film. We didn't change anything for the SB, as if it was another regular season game

Did you not see how in the 1st game last season in the 1st half, Cam was doing 3 step drops and getting the ball out much faster and it was working great, only to revert back to 5 step drops in the 2nd half that got his ass kicked. I have yet to see Cam do a 3 step drop play since and we're supposed to be getting the ball out faster

Shula been here 5 years and all yall do is keep talking about one season. Next year yall going to be talking about that same season lol

THAT'S THE POINT.

With all that in mind why in god's name are you calling for plays that take forever to develop and completely ignore all the facts you just posted? Shula needs to adjust due to the reasons you just listed and instead he's acting like we are firing on all cylinders.

Dex, I love you like a brother and respect you highly.  I must say you are wrong on this.  shula is not an OC.  Now that's my opinion and we both are entitled to our opinions.  With the highest respect, TPF

I was told by someone with thirty years of football coaching experience that we are wasting shula's prime

True. The Panthers should have let him go find work he might have excelled at with another team, another sport or another level.

That being said, he has to take some responsibility for being a mediocre coach with a very slightly above average football team. If he wanted bigger and better, he should have left.

And a good OC could mask all of our mistakes on offense. Shula's playcalling is so terrible that when those mistakes show up, they are magnified. The reason you are blaming players is because we don't have many chances to succeed and sometimes when we finally do, a player makes a mistake and then you're all over them. Our players have to play perfect in order for us to succeed. Which is impossible. Shula is just a terrible OC. There's no other way of putting it. We should've had 28 points Sunday.

I've never been a Shula basher or ardent defender, but last week would have been hard to defend if I were.

Whether or not it's his gameplan or Ron's, get the damn play calls in, man. Snap the ball somewhere between 10 and 0 instead of 1 every time. I know some of this may be on Cam, but sometimes he seems frustrated about the calls coming in so late.

Stop wasting timeouts and get the damn playcalls in. Certainly this should have been ironed out after 4 years. That is all. End rant....but seriously, get the damn ball snapped on time, zoddamnit.

The really amazing thing about the Buffalo Bills is how they seem to have more fans in literally every city they travel to than there are living human beings that still reside in the economic, cultural and climatological post-apocalyptic wasteland that is Buffalo, NY. Why the NFL bothers to keep a team there is one of the greatest mysteries in sports.

If you knew anything, you'd know we had the top scoring offense, not the top overall offense. Nothing from that had anything to do with Shula,  that came from tons of short field opportunities caused by a great defense that forced a lot of turnovers. Have you ever watched a game on re-run and not focused so much on where the ball is going, but how the other aspects of the plays pan out? Our offense is less complicated then a high school offense tbh... and that's all on Shula. So, keep telling g yourself Shula isn't to blame here, or whatever else makes this season easier for you, yea.. Cam is inaccurate,  but that isn't rust... he's the same he's always been.  Dropped passes? What's new? Shitty blocking? When was the last time it was good? Dude... it's Shula

read the bold back to yourself. You're an embarrassment to this fan base. Your incompetence has resulted in me blocking you so I don't contract your autism. Have a great day.

For the record because some of you can't seem to tell the difference between explanation and exoneration let me help you out.

I am not saying Shula isn't the problem because everyone has a hand in the offense sputtering. This is a ball control offense which is Ron's choice. However, firing Shula will not solve all of the problems. He is not the end all be all downfall of the offense. We need to execute. That is all.

    • Yeah and I am doubtful he can offer that consistently. I don’t have many years left at my age and in my view we have wasted two and this whole exercise with him was always a three year minimum.  I am out on that with a guy I don’t believe in, and never believed in, it has sucked. To me it is a costly detour off the right track. Years.    But I am not so rigid that I can’t see excellence. He needs to display it though, consistently before I change my outlook.
    • No, when I said rage, I meant rage, which only applies to certain fans on this board. Your timeline of trying to assess whether he is the future or not is really tied to the discussions surrounding his second contract. If this team is going to commit to some monster contract while he has shown nothing but glimpses of brilliance would be deservedly worrisome, so the clock is genuinely ticking for him to settle into something resembling his final form. Perhaps a best case scenario is that he plays well, the team succeeds, but he does so with a more limited role that makes the rest of the league view him as a game manager, and his second contract value reflects that. Then he continues to improve and becomes a bargain comparatively while not handicapping the team around him, and we enter an era of consistent championship competitiveness that the fanbase has craved for decades and has never really experienced before. But that requires many, many things to go right and for Bryce himself to facilitate that if he ends up being the quarterback of the future.
    • Exactly. And the flame throwers as well, get location benefits from not going all out. But they have it in reserve.  Not sure how much Greg had but he was an artist.  There was a YouTube I came across last year or maybe even 2023 and I don’t how to even find now but it had two NFL QBs I want say one was Carr from the Raiders but I don’t really remember  The point of it is they stood side by side throwing identical distances to identical targets. Radar gun was used.  They threw the normal effort (not all out) and it was measured etc. Then they were asked to throw their ‘fastball’. They were missing and most often they were missing high. It demonstrated the same principle.    edit: and applying that to arm strength, give me the guy that doesn’t need max effort to have good velocity. The margins are so narrow with less velocity in tne NFL the defenders can Close on it and this is a league where they value down to the 100th of a second level. It is that tight
