"But Cam Can't Utilize CMC Properly" - Christian McCaffrey 80% Success Rate Receiving; Best In The NFL

This is true, if he gets to the second level he can be dangerous.  He just can't get past the D line.

And teams are playing the run on us too. For years I have wanted Shula to go to a heavy PA offense when they do that but he never does.

That's why he should just be a slot WR  screw the dline that would already get him some space

If New England had him they would convert him they wouldn't waste him has  RB in the NFL because the nfl is not college.

Just my 2 cents

If NE had him they would kill teams on play action. 2nd and 1 wouldn't be a run up the middle that's for sure.

So, do you know what that 80% means?

Looks like just means he caught 4 out of 5 targets last week and no one else did any better. And that's wrong. Theilan was 5 of 6 for 83%, Crabtree was 6 of 6, Witten, 10 of 13  which is 76%, which is indeed less than 80% but still, Adams was 8 of 10.

Oh, he means just in the Panthers Bills game?  Must of meant only the panthers receivers because MCoy was 6 of 7 with Matthews and Clay both at 3 of 3.

Benajmin was 6 of 8 for 75%, Dickson and Samuel were 2 out 3 for 66%

Sorry, that's way too small a sample size to say his 80%  meant anything.

And what it doesn't measure is how often Cam should have thrown to him and didn't.

McCaffrey really needs a FB. Kids not going to bulldozer anyone.

Or reasonable creases.  I'm not a Shula hater (or lover either), but he does need to find a way to get CMC in space more.  We also still bunch up the middle too much so our backs rarely have any space to run.  It's easy to blame the backs, or even the line, but I think the biggest problem is we're not spreading defenses out enough to give our guys room to work.

The fact we only use 3 formations a game yet can't get the play in on time is the kind of thing I hate about Shula. It's a one size fits all approach. Like KB on fly routes and Samuel on cut backs and outs.

We have so many weapons this year (even with Olsen going down).  I believe we have the talent to have mismatches all over the place, but we need to be more creative from play to play.  However, to be fair, Cam is still knocking off the rust and trying to adjust to actually having legit dump-off options.  So, I'll give it a little while until I make a real judgement, but I'm not liking what I'm seeing.

In the receiving game, Christian McCaffrey has been fantastic. While some may be disappointed that he hasn't put up fantasy numbers yet, he's done a lot on the field to contribute:

Something to think about.

Best in the game, means the best in the Bills-Panthers game, not best in NFL. Actually means best for the Panthers in that game, since McCoy and two others on the Bills had better numbers.

Statement: CMC has bad numbers for a running back.

Answer: Yes, but he's a Wide Receiver as well.

Statement: On a per touch basis, CMC is not a very productive player.

Answer: That's not fair; you have to look at him as what he does specifically.

This will never end until Cam finally hospital balls him out of the league.

He looks just like Reggie Bush out there, except he's willing to go between the tackles and ruin his modeling career. Still getting nothing done.
