I've never found anything Seth MacFarlane has been associated with remotely funny or even mildly interesting,

I can appreciate lowbrow humor but MacFarlane just plain sucks.

So I'm really enjoying this show. It's good sci fi but light hearted and occasionally funny.

Episode 3 and 4 were really good.

spoiler: Episode 3 raised excellent questions about morality and I really like how it ended.

I think they have taken the mantle of a contemporary take on the Original Star Trek, though still goofier.  It's a good relaxing watch, that's for sure.

Let Discovery be the grittier, JJ Abram-a-fied show.  I like it, and I know that it's just different compared to the Star Trek's of the past.

But The Orville has really done a good job of trying to balance some dramatic tension with the MacFarland's humor.  Episode 3 was an amazing episode.  Four though was just OK.  I get the point, but it was just a little to easy of an ending.

I have just finished binge watching.  I think its pretty good.  I like how everyone is less proper than in Star Trek
