Snapping the ball with one second left....

I'm sure Rivera wants to control time of possession, but this junk of Shula struggling to get the play call in on time to get a play off is 100% on him. We burn at least one timeout a game due to this and it's not uncommon for us to pick up a delay of game penalty and several other times have to rush to barely get the snap off. It's hard to execute properly when you're in scramble mode just trying to beat the clock.

People want Cam to call more audibles, but how? How often are we up to the line and set with more than 5 seconds or so to go on the play clock? There's no time for an audible. Hell, there's hardly any time to change protections if need be. This poo infuriates me because we're straight up handicapping our own offense.

This offense sucks bc we have playmakers but Ron and Shula are holding the offense back... You should want to score quick and get the other teams into a panic so your defense can feast..if they start to get tired then you slow the game down ..9 points will not get it done with an offensive minded team

I really want Cam to go into Shula's offense and tell him to get the plays in quicker or just let Cam dictate the flow at the LoS.  If Shula refuses, go to Ron.  If Ron refuses, go to Hurney. All the way up the chain of command to JR if need be. Surely Cam is more secure in his job than Shula or even Ron.  If anyone has the clout to make a change, it's Cam.

When Gannon was talking about the play clock being in the second level yesterday I asked myself why the team doesn't invest in a single large mobile play flock you can roll from end zone to end zone depending on which way the offense is going.... And not use when our defense is on the field.

Then again there is a lot of things I'd do differently at BoA.

Why does the PA guy wait until the official announces that its a 1st down to announce to the crowd that "THATS ANOTHER CAROLINA PANTHERRRR... 1ST DOWN!"

say it as soon as it looks like a first down, get the crowd fired up, and prey on the official's natural tendency to give into societal pressure/not rock the boat while he's spotting the ball.

It's why we struggle so much.

I would love to be a fly on the wall for some of the convos between Cam and Cecil Newton. I wonder if they discuss how terrible shula is?

We also waste timeouts because the plays aren't coming in fast enough, or there is some sort of helmet issue.  Our offense is doing amateur hour right now.

Serious question(s).

How do we know the plays do not come in fast enough?  Is there an article on this or is it just Huddle legend?

Since Cam didn't get a lot of pre-season reps, maybe he's struggling with the timing a little.

Because it happened to Anderson too.

Not sure the clock idea would pass muster with the rules, but regardless, I like your train of thought. You should offer your services to the Panthers as their director of psychological warfare.

shula wants to hold the ball and drain clock

Not positive that's a Shula trait, but I know for damn sure it's a Rivera trait that he requires Shula to execute.

Maybe it's both, who knows... but I feel that kind of "overall" decision comes from the head coach.

I had the same thought. Then again, Cam should know how to find that clock quicker than any visiting QB.
