Panthers Have No Interest in Shaun Smith

tell me all about what Smith has done on the field if he's this great. He's a name someone mentioned - that's all.

Yeah, I'm still waiting on an answer to that question. So far, I have seen no evidence that Shaun Smith would be any better than Hollis Thomas, yet fans are using Shaun Smith's name as proof that the Panthers refuse to get better.

More then Nick Hayden and Burton but for some reason they keep them around. People are

Just tired of seeing Hayden get moved around. Hollis has done much in the last 3 years either.

Smith younger then Hollis and been more productive latley.

He is better then Burton and Hayden so what other reason do they have for not showing intrest.

Who the f**k here said he was great? Don't make up things. Smith is a big body that can take on blockers as well as apply some pressure. He would be an upgrade over Hayden who constantly gets pushed around.

If Shaun Smith were that great of player then he wouldn't be available to begin with. Just because a guy has talent doesn't mean he will fit in or be a help. If all we wanted was a talented guy who was suspect in other areas, we would have kept Kris Jenkins.

A guy with character issues, coming off a suspension for steroid use who would likely want more than we have in cap space and you guys can't figure why we wouldn't want any part of him??

He has had a total of 2 sacks in his career has failed to play a full season (all 16 games) since he came into the league and had one huge year in his career in 2007. Last year he had no sacks, 36 tackles (26 solo, 10 assists) and played 11 games. He is not that great.

You guys say Lewis is not starter material yet he had 43 tackles (33 solo, 10 assists) and 3.5 sacks and played 15 games in 2008. Yet you want to get Smith who is a well documented problem and has poorer numbers.

I don't get it at all.

Cmon now, Detroit didn't even want him. Why in the world would we want him?

55 this was a tricky post why nobody else caught this I don't know.

Why are you comparing him too Lewis who he would be starting with and Kemo who is out for the season? Smith numbers should be compared too the people we signed or who were already here to replace Kemo. Hayden, Burton , Lenard, and Harris, how does his numbers compared too them? If they are better then their should be no reason for giving him a shot.

Yeah well, Kris Jenkins didn't do much in the 3 years prior to the Jets trading for him either. Even though he made the pro bowl the year before that trade, most Panthers fans didn't feel like he deserved it and were more than happy to see him and his propensity to jump off sides go somewhere else.

Killer don't kill yourself. All you need too ask them is " Is Smith better then Hayden" yes "Is he better then Burton" yes "Is he younger then Hollis and put up better production the last few years" yes. Then why are we not giving him a shot?

Just read through this thread. Everybody is acting like the Panthers are passing on the greatest player ever.

Why you have such a problem with Kris I don't know? You keep bringing him up. I'll tell you 1 thing When Kris didn't want too be here he still played and gave effort. Can you say the same for Pep?
