Jonathan Stewart is the NFL's most underrated runningback. The stuff he does is unquestionably incredible. He still plays at a high level.

So, to remind everyone just exactly how productive he is in tough situations:

Only four out of eighteen of his attempts were not against 8 man boxes. That's pretty incredible.

Just something to think about this Sunday.

Hopefully with the new weapons around him he will have lighter box as season progresses.

Not surprising. SF was stacking the box and daring us to throw. The running game eventually wore them down in the fourth quarter

I feel like hving 53 of your 65 yards after contact is an even more impressive stat. That's unreal. Creating yards from nothing a lot of the time.

I'm guessing a lot of those 8 man boxes were during that last drive though, when they knew we were going to run it on every play.

Wonder how many more years he'll play for us and if McCaffrey will ever become the lead back or just always be a #2 RB behind our designated power runner..

Stewart was one of the few players you couldn't blame for 2016. His stats were terrible with a 3.3 YPC and yet he still elite breaking tackles which tells you had incredibly bad the blocking was.

If he had been drafted by another team he would be a top 5 every year, pro bowls, and be talked about much differently.
