Should the NFL cancel Thursday Night Football

Can't believe so many of y'all want to do away with MNF! TNF can go but MNF is a staple. I do think that MNF has lost some of its hype though.

They will not scrap Thursday night football because it would be less money for the league. They probably should though. 

The wild card in all this is an expanded regular season. If you go to a 20 Week season, that would be 18 games and two bye weeks. You could produce a schedule where teams play Thursday night coming off a bye and make it safer and higher quality football. It would also mean those teams have 10-11 days before Their 2nd game following the bye. 

On the other side of things... collectively bargaining an 18 game schedule by removing the weekly Thursday night game could be seen as a compromise on player safety. It would also give the NFL 2 more regular season Sundays/Mondays to recoup the lost revenue. 

But they won't give up Thursday night games unless they get something more valuable in return.

Drop Thursday night games.

Cut preseason to 2 games.  Keep the current 16 game season.

No overseas games.

But you know, this will never happen. I have no idea why the owner$ would never agree to thi$.  It would be better for player $afety and I agree less is more in this case.

Thursday night football is mediocre, but the NFL doesn't care. They're going to keep running it into the ground the same way they are the overseas games as long as profits continue.

They should have never started and it was evident in year one of Thursday night football it was a terrible idea. 

The NFL is becoming oversatured. Instead of a great dish we only get so much of, we're drowning in it.

This coming week you can stream the TNF games on Amazon Prime. No extra charges beyond Prime membership. Amazon Prime is like breathing to me, gotta have it.

Only a few are exclusively on NFL Network. 11 of the games are on CBS or NBC. And Amazon is streaming many of them as well.

No, but the games shouldn't be important division ones.  Make them out of conferenc2 ones or something a little less important.

Agreed.  I think they should always be OOC and teams should have bye weeks the week before.

No, it's the third NFL day of the week. In addition, it breaks up having so many games played on Sunday. Heck, I'd be down with adding 4th day.
