I would have kept Crume over Parms, Frasier and Clausell, and maybe Zach Moore, but that's me.

Agree, though I might substitute Key Garrett for Frasier.  I thought Frasier showed a bit more upside in preseason than Garrett.  But yeah, I didn't think Crume should have been the bottom of the pecking order on the PS.  Easily 2 or 3 guys who should have been cut ahead of him.

Yet again, a Huddle freakout amounted to nothing. This idea Harrison Butler is some amazing kicker who wouldn't even make waivers was just as absurd as the idea someone would immediately snatch up Armah, a project fullback. Butker looked bad in practice, and you can literally grab a decent kicker off the street. He's on the practice squad to keep pressure on Gano, and Gano made all five kicks last week. And of course with contracts, I see little to complain about so far with Davis, Olsen, and Turner all getting extremely reasonable deals.

Maybe, just maybe, it's time to consider the idea that management knows what it's doing and give them even the tiniest benefit of the doubt. They aren't stupid, and maybe there are valid reasons they made some of these moves.

Our PS surely is a bit interesting looking right now - pretty different to past years.

K + QB

3 DEs, no DTs (of course 1 of the 3 is Obada who can't be promoted, is just an extra)

2 S, no CBs

No RB or TE [RB is fine since we have 4 on 53, but we're not deep at TE, no developmental prospects...]

No Gs, but again we're fairly deep at G depth on the 53  (Moton, Silatolu, Larsen, Van Roten)

No LBs (but we're so deep on the 53, it hopefully won't be an issue.)

Good to have Harrison back on the team.

Where does this idea that 3mil is going to cost us Norwell, or Stah? I mean c'mon man. They are going to get close to 20mil a year between them. But that lousy 3mil is going to hamper those deals from happening. lol Folks are willing to say just about anything to make a point. Damm the torpedo's, fake news ahead.

Hurney has a history of not managing the cap very well. It's sort of his thing. But if you aren't worried about overpaying our kicker or running out of money, I guess I won't either.

Gettleman paid Gano. Can't blame Hurney for this one.

I think it's mainly because of the type of defense you play. Try to take away the long stuff and force a team to be patient and drive down the field. That forces a lot of checkdowns. I don't know the yardage numbers, but I would assume it's small, because of how good the linebackers are. Not a huge deal, in my opinion.

To piggy-back on that. Another reason teams like to keep things underneath, is to make teams use lots of plays to move down field. The more plays it takes to move down the field. The better chance they will get antsy, and make a mistake. Whether that mistake is a penalty at the wrong time, or an untimely turnover.

Most teams are not built to continually make long drives to score points. If you can make them do exactly that. You are putting yourself in good position.
